Great British Walks Week

Next week sees the start of the National Trust’s ‘Great British Walks Week’ and offers people all over the UK to experience and celebrate everything the coming season has to offer.

There are literally hundreds of walks you can take and with so many opportunities to explore and discover what our countryside has to offer, there’s every reason to put on your walking boots and get out there and see it.

Great British Walks Week runs from Monday 8th of September until 24th of October, which gives you plenty of time to plan a walk or two! With some of the longer walks, why not book a Farm Stay break via our accommodation search and enjoy the perfect base and setting for resting your feet at the end of the day?!
There are guided walks on offer as well as trails you can find yourself if you feel like it, as well as plenty of other ways to enjoy the outdoors.

Walk the Wales Coastal Path
There are lots of wonderful coastal paths in Wales like Marloes and the Deer Park, which is a five mile circular walk around the Marloes Peninsula. Sandstone rocks on the south side and volcanic rocks on the north side offer great photo opportunities and of course wonderful views of the Pembrokshire islands and wildlife.

If you want something that’s teaming with history then the Cliffs and wrecks at South Gower might be of interest. This four mile walk along the South Gower coast allows you to discover the limestone and of course the cliff (Graves End) that has many a tale of shipwrecks!

Secret Walks
As much as there are popular walks in the UK, it also has it’s share of walks that are like hidden gems too. Whether you want something with a hidden viewpoint or a coastal path with a story attached.
