Mid Wales and the Brecon Beacons

The rich, rolling green landscapes of Powys and the unspoilt Brecon Beacons make Mid Wales an ideal destination for a rural holiday. There’s fantastic walking, cycling and riding, from the Brecon Beacons and the Cambrian Mountains to the soft, rolling hills around Llanidloes.

The Brecon Beacons National Park, covers 520 square miles – roughly the same area as the London underground system – includes four distinct mountain ranges, 268 scheduled ancient monuments and well over 3000 miles of hedgerow.

There’s a rich agricultural tradition in and around the park and the region’s one of a kind towns – outdoorsy, walker friendly Crickhowell, jazzy Brecon, food-loving Abergavenny and book mad Hay-on-Wye – are a must for any traveller.

Children will love the location, usually on a real working farm, while parents will appreciate the high quality of the accommodation as well as the peaceful beauty of the countryside.
