Cornish member to host world record attempt

24/07/2016
Cornish Farm Stay members Jimmy and Sheila Kempthorne will be hosting a world record attempt at the Strongwool Ewe World Shearing at their home, Trefranck Farm, St. Clether, Nr. Launceston, Cornwall, PL15 8GN.
The couples son in law, New Zealander Matt Smith is attempting the record this coming Tuesday, 26th July, 2016.
Shearing will start at 5am and the record will hopefully be broken by 5pm!
This is the first time such a record has been attempted in the UK or even the Northern hemisphere.  The current record, held by a fellow New Zealander is 721 ewes shorn in the 9 hour timeframe.  In order to beat the record, Matt will have to relieve each sheep of their coat in less than 45 seconds.
Visitors are welcome to the event so why not incorporate into your Cornish Farm Stay visit this week.
