Dog Friendly Cottages in Cornwall

Going on holiday without your pet can prove difficult for some, and may even prevent families from staying away for a longer period of time. Luckily for those of you who want to treat your pet to a family holiday, many Farm Stay holiday cottages in Cornwall are dog friendly and will allow a well behaved pet to stay.
Our dog friendly accommodation is often located on real working farms and are set in idyllic rural surroundings, the perfect base to go out and explore all that Cornwall has to offer, along with your dog.

With over 300 miles of magnificent coastline and dramatic and idyllic scenery throughout county, this is one of the best locations to walk and enjoy the outdoors of anywhere in the British Isles.

When it comes to dog walks, you will be spoilt for choice on the South West Coast Path - there are miles and miles of breathtaking routes to explore with your dog, not to mention great dog-friendly beaches and pubs along the way.

You are never usually very far from a walk with dramatic views.
Trelissick park and woods, a National Trust property found beween Truro and Falmouth has good circular walks around the woods of differing lengths.
The 5 mile circular walk of King Arthur and the slate coast is a great dog walk that follows part of an old donkey track from the village of Treknow. It takes in Tintagel Church, on the cliffs outside the village, then follows a series of tracks and lanes parallel to the coast before descending to the cove of Trebarwith Strand. The Port William Inn nestles in the cliffs just above the sandy cove and welcomes dogs. It then returns to Tintagel along the coast, passing the remnants of some historic quarries and then the magnificently sited Tintagel Castle.

Cornwall is famed for its fantastic beaches - which are bound to be a hit with your dog!A good point to note is that if the Coast Path crosses a beach then it is usually a dog friendly beach, i.e. no restrictions between Easter and September as is often the case.

A few favourites you might want to try are :-
Watergate Bay -  Lots of rock pools to explore and two miles of golden sand that is sure to tire out even the most energetic of dogs!
Mother Ivey's Bay is a picturesque and pleasant sandy beach which lies in a sheltered bay on the North Coast of Cornwall. Due to the lack of amenities the beach stays relatively quiet even in peak summer times which is ideal for throwing your dogs’ ball as far as you can without disturbing the tourists
Lankidden Cove really is the archetypal Cornish cove.
This hidden cove is best reached via a hike along the coast path from Kennack Sands over a mile away. This ensures that it is always quiet and more often than not completely deserted. Set at the bottom of a steep track the water is turquoise and the gently sloping sand is broken up by various large rocky outcrops.

.

However Cornwall does not just offer stunning natural scenery it also has many contemporary and historical attractions. St. Michael’s Mount and the Minack Theatre are both must-sees.

For those who are animal lovers, the seal sanctuary at Gweek will both provide a fun and interesting day out. Well behaved dogs are welcome provided they are kept on a lead, in fact
"The Cornish Seal Sanctuary" have even been named by Cesar as being a top dog friendly attraction!
