Stonehenge and Avebury Accommodation

Stay in one of Wiltshire Farm Stay B&B's or Holiday Cottages and visit the World Heritage site of Stonehenge and Avebury.

One of the wonders of the world, built about 5,000 years ago in the late Neolithic period about 2500 BC, the iconic stone circle of Stonehenge is perhaps the best known prehistoric monument in the World.  Find out about the development of the World Heritage site at the Visitor Centre.
Stonehenge lies in the south of Wiltshire about 10 miles from the beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury.  A must see on your itinerary.

Avebury is in the north of the county 11 miles from Swindon and lies between Devizes and Marlborough.  Walk amongst the stones built over many centuries from about 2850 BC.  Avebury is one of the largest and most complex of Britain's surviving Neolithic henge monuments.  Well worth a visit during your stay in Wiltshire.

Other monuments included in the World Heritage site are the massive henge at Durrington Walls, Woodhenge, Silbury Hill and the West Kennet Long Barrow.  All worth a visit in their own right.  Archaeologists continue to work in the World Heritage site and new discoveries are being made every year, so there is always a reason to come back.
