Low Howgill

Low Howgill Farm is situated in the lovely Eden Valley, which lies between the Pennines and the Lakeland Fells from Mallerstang down to the Solway Firth, from here the Lake District, the Border Country and Hadrian’s Wall are within easy reach. The unspoilt fellside villages are a joy to explore, Milburn is the nearest at one mile away and the historic town of Appleby - in - Westmorland is 5 miles to the east.

The B&B farm has an area of ancient woodland running alongside Milburn Beck and a small lake where fishing is available, these are managed to provide a natural habitat for wildlife. Guests may expect to see red squirrel, roe deer, badger and many species of waterfowl.

An old barn adjacent to the farmhouse has recently been renovated to provide three en-suite bedrooms, all rooms are individually decorated and furnished to a high standard:

The first room has a king-sized bed and the en-suite bathroom has a bath with shower over.

The second double room has a king-sized bed; the en-suite has a shower cubicle.

The third room has two single beds and the en-suite has a shower cubicle.

Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in all rooms and a complimentary tea or coffee is usually offered on guests’ arrival.

Our full English breakfast uses locally produced food wherever possible and eggs are from our own free roaming hens. Of course a lighter breakfast option with fresh fruit, yoghurt and homemade marmalade and preserves is always available.

There is a dining/sitting room with a television exclusively for guests’ use.

Unfortunately we do not normally accept pets in the house but arrangements can be made to give them a comfortable bed in a nearby outbuilding and there is plenty of space to exercise them.
