Grange Farm

Grange Farm has been in the Parker family since the 1830’s and has many portraits of ancestors hanging on the walls.
The farm is arable and there is an interesting programme of seed breeding that has been in place for the last 15 years, agriculture does not stand still.
Woolpit village centre is a conservation area with a magnificent church and many listed buildings surrounding the village pump. Seek out the mysterious story of the Green Children who suddenly appeared in the village or visit Ladyswell where the waters allegedly have healing powers for eye complaints! The village museum is open at weekends in the afternoon from Easter through to the end of September and run by an enthusiastic team of volunteers. The thriving cricket club has home matches every Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer and openly invites visitors to come and watch, have a cup of tea or a pint of the local brew and enjoy village cricket at its very best. There is a good selection of shops and pubs in the village, enough for locals and visitors to be well served without having to get caught up with the supermarket giants.
Further afield is the market town of Bury St Edmunds, steeped in history, with its Abbey Ruins, St Mary’s Church and the more recent Cathedral with its fabulous new tower. It also boast’s an excellent shopping centre, plenty of high street names but a good selection of independents too. A mass of restaurants and coffee houses are on offer so very easy to while away the hours in pleasant surroundings.
Many visitors love to drive around the country lanes admiring the villages like Lavenham, Long Melford and Kersey enjoying the slower pace of life. With Woolpit being in the heart of East Anglia it is an ideal centre for visiting Cambridge, Norwich or the beautiful Suffolk Coast.
