There is plenty of OFF ROAD PARKING and as we are not visible from the road, people feel confident bringing vehicles with trailers: Rally cars, expensive equipment in vans, horse boxes, horse driven vehicles, vintage cars and sports cars ETC. You will approach the farm via 1/3 mile-long part tree lined, part open field DRIVE where animals graze.TOOT your horn if the sheep do not move out of the way. We are iIdeal for TOURING Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire villages, sights & festivals. We are: - 1.1mile(3 mins) from Birtsmorton Court wedding venue -5.8miles(16 mins) from Eastnor Castle events & wedding venue. - 7 miles (15 mins) from the Three Counties Showground.
Our local Country PUB - The Farmers Arms is 1.6miles(6mins). It is a real locals pub which has a good selection of beers including Hook Norton Beer from the Cotswolds. There is a large open fire. The excellent food is all home made and reasonably priced. There are other pubs further afield worth trying as well. DOGS are welcome £5/night. They cannot be left unattended and are not allowed on the furniture.We have an enclosed field by the house where they can be let off the lead to run about.
A wealth of WILDLIFE can be seen from the house including pheasants, partridge, woodpeckers, barn owls, buzzards swallows, lapwings, mistle thrushes, foxes, hares and rabbits. The sky on a clear night is amazing as there is no light-pollution-the STARS are visable. It’s a perfect LOCATION for country-lovers, nature enthusiasts, bird watchers and walkers. And for anyone who wishes for somewhere QUIET & peaceful to stay. The BEDROOM has either a ‘Superking’ double or 2 single beds,and the low window here also gives a view across the fields while lying in bed! There’s also an EXTRA sofa-bed complete with private dressing alcove in the living area for 2 more people.. If required 2 extra camp beds can be put up AS WELL. There is a secure PORCH for wellies, luggage/ bike storage or just for extra using space! Also provided are Bed linen and towels. Flat-screen TV +DVD player Free WiFi Small book & DVD libary. Bike storage Free parking for 4 cars (no reservation needed). loads of parking for trailers. 12-Herb garden Well-behaved dogs are welcome and we also offer accommodation for horses. There is NO SMOKING throughout inside. The tile and wood flooring throughout the building has underfloor central-heating. The farm’s secluded location puts it ‘OFF-GRID’ so power is home-generated, but electricity for lighting, TV, computers and microwave is constantly available and the gas cooker provides hot water for drinks and cooking at any time. The owners’ washing machine & tumble dryer is available for use with prior notice. Linhay is a small MIXED farm of 120 acres specialising in the rearing of sheep. A concern with natureCONSERVATION, has brought it a ‘High Level Stewardship’ award which, among other things, helps to protect ground-nesting birds such as Lapwing and Plover. Mike Barnes has been in farming and its associated activities all his life; his wife Jenny, a qualified physiotherapist, is also an expert equestrian. Horse Riding Bring your own horses to stay at £8 per night. Horse & ponies can be hired locally for riding. We can do GUIDED HORSE RIDES in the many off-road areas close by or you can explore yourself. We are an excellent stopping-off point for many varied off-road riding places such as the Cotswolds, Bredon Hill, Forest of Dean and May Hill.All are possible to visit in 1 day. The nearby Malverns offer many days' riding and straight out of the farm is Longdon Marsh. You can explore on your own or we can provide a guide. SPECIAL NEEDS We offer respite and supported B&B & stays. Professional carers to assist with bathing and dressing can be provided to give your carer a break.
