Paul and Hilary welcome you to Harmony House an AA four star gold B&B in a small rural village 6 miles south of York. We hope you will find us the perfect antidote to city life.
Harmony House overlooks the flower meadow called The Green in the rural village of Stillingfleet approx 6 miles south of York. You will find it is easily accessible from all major motorways and is a pleasant 10 minute rural drive to the outskirts or the park and ride at McArthur Glenn
If you arrive between 3&5pm a cup of tea will be waiting after your journey. If you prefer not to venture out again in the evening we can offer an evening meal, supper or snack if booked in advance. You can also invite friends or family to join you for lunch, afternoon tea or dinner. Within a few miles of Harmony House there is an exceptional selection of pubs and restaurants.
All our rooms are ensuite and tastefully themed. You will find in each room a hospitality tray with homemade biscuits, snacks and a variety of hot drinks and a fridge with complimentary cold drinks and fresh milk. BT inifinity is available throughout the house and is free to use.
Our food is homemade and sourced from local suppliers. Castle Howard or our local butcher provide our meat and the eggs from a nearby farm. A lighter alternative is always available from omeletter to eggs Benedict or smoked haddock. Our comfortable guest lounge has a log fire in the winter and in the summer you can sit on the patio overlooking the wildflower meadow and hopefully catch a glimpse of the barn owl.

Dating back to the 17C Harmony House was formerly agricultural cottages and house and owned by the local estate of The Prestons at Moreby Hall. In its day it has housed the local reading room, sunday school, post office and stabled carriages whilst the occupiers were at Church. It has now been sympathetically modernised to modern day comforts whilst retaining many original characteristics.
In the village you can explore the pathways around the Green and to the river or visit the Norman Church which is steeped in history. For any gardeners Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens in the village is a 'quintessentially English garden' open to the public on certain days.
Harmony House is ideally placed between York and Selby and the villages of Escrick, Riccall Cawood and Naburn are all within a 3 mile radius Conveniently situated south of York it has easy access to York University, Fulford, York racecourse. Selby Abbey, Elvington Airfield
Children cannot be accommodated in the house but there is a self-catering annex which is ideal as a family room for which we provide a continental breakfast hamper. It can also be a self-catering unit for 2 persons. Perfect for both holiday makers and business visitors alike.
