Two delightful quality cottages near St Ives at the most westerley end of Cornwall.  Whether you are looking for a rural retreat in the country, a luxury cottage by the coast path or a romantic hideaway our 4 star gold award cottages can offer it all in abundance. 

Porthmeor Cottages are ideally situated for West Penwith's art and culture as well as outdoor pursuits and locally sourced food. For the Tate, St Ives, Penlee Museum in Penzance, the Newlyn Art gallery as well as the associations with 20th century artists like Patrick Heron and Barbara Hepworth. There is walking, cycling, horse riding and even rock climbing; for the foodies the fresh locally produced food with the renown Gurnard's Head Restaurant a 10 minute stroll away. Literacy enthusiasts may be interested to know that Virginia Wolfe stayed in Porthmeor Farmhouse, DH Lawrence lived in Zennor and our farm and the surrounding area have been filmed for Rosamund Pilcher's TV adaptations.

Eliza’s Croft sleeps four, and with its picture windows shares its stunning views of Carn Galver and the Atlantic Ocean with the cattle that graze nearby. Three steps lead up to the entrance hall of this idyllic retreat, decorated and furnished with flair, where guests are assured of a peaceful and comfortable break.

Tucked away behind the owners granite farmhouse stands Eliza’s Croft. Three steps lead up to the rear entrance porch. The accommodation is all on one level with an open plan living room with kitchen and dining areas. From here guests can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the open moorland, ancient field formations and the Atlantic Ocean.

There is a fitted kitchen area with an electric oven and hob, a microwave oven & fridge with a freezer compartment. There is outside access to the washing machine in the old dairy.

The dining area has a table with 4 chairs and a wood burning stove.

The living area has two comfortable two seater sofas. For entertainment there is a flat screen LCD television with a DVD player and CD player/radio.

A small lobby leads into the modern shower–room with shower, WC and wash–basin.

The bedrooms have quality comfortable beds with white Egyptian cotton bed linen. They are located on either side of the shower-room. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and bedroom 2 has twin beds.

Outside the enclosed lawn gardens are safe for children and there is a barbeque patio on the sheltered side.

There is private parking for two cars.

Electricity, logs and linen
Electricity is included in the rent (4 night storage heaters). Logs, first basket free, thereafter purchase at cost from cottage owner. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided. Please note beach towels are not provided.

Additional information
Arrival/departure day is Saturday. Arrival time is after 4pm and departure time is before 10am. Short breaks also available, please enquire. The cottage is available to non–smokers only. Regret no children under two years of age. Regret no pets.

Clippity Clop was originally the stallion house, now delightfully restored this immaculate property, sleeping two, retains many original features and provides a stylish retreat. Throughout the barn are exposed beams, whereby the upstairs galleried bedroom shelters under the eaves.

Clippity Clop is attached to the owners beautiful farmhouse with far reaching views to the sea. Entrance into the sitting/dining room with its warming log burner. There is a comfortable sofa and flat screen LCD television with a DVD player and CD player/radio.

Three steps take you to the kitchen with an electric oven and hob. There is a fridge with a freezer compartment and a microwave oven. The beamed passage continues to the shower room with shower, WC and wash basin.

A bespoke staircase leads from the sitting room up to the galleried bedroom with its traditional king-size bed.

To the rear of the property is an enclosed garden with patio furniture. There is private parking for one car.

There is outside access to the washing machine in the old dairy.

Additional Directions Information

 We recommend that you follow the A30 to Penzance. Continue on the A30 signposted Land’s End, St Just and Newlyn. Take the second exit at the roundabout at Tesco’s. Follow the road up the hill, then go straight across at the mini roundabout. At the next roundabout take the fourth exit signposted to Heamoor and Madron. Continue on this road for another 5 miles.

At the fork in the road, bear right for Zennor, then turn right onto the B3306 coast road towards St Ives. Continue on this winding road for approximately 2 miles until you reach the hamlet of Porthmeor. As you enter the hamlet you will see Porthmeor Farm on your right. Drive into the yard in front of the farmhouse.

For Clippity Clop please park in the space to the left of the cottage.

For Eliza’s Croft please park in front of the large hydrangra bush directly in front of you. Walk through the gate and follow the path to the cottage.
