Long Byres Cottages on Talkin Head Farm are ideal for lovers of wildlife, walking, birdwatching, cycling or just picnicing by the stream while watching the herd of Exmoor ponies grazing nearby.
The farm is at the end of the road and there is direct access to the fells with short circular walks or longer all day treks available without taking a car.
Harriet Sykes, the owner, would be happy to arrange an evening (in the summer) of birdwatching with an expert wildlfe artist. She also can offer a menu of local dishes using local ingredients for her home-cooked evening meal service (April to October).
The cottages are in an excellent position to sightsee along Hadrian's Wall, to Gretna Green and the Scottish Borders and Ullswater in the Lake District is 25 miles away. While Talkin Tarn is a mile away and a good place to take an evening stroll or to walk the dog before enjoying a pint of locally brewed beer in the village pub.
