Farwood Barton lies in the tranquil, peaceful Coly Valley amid high hills in the heart of the East Devon countryside on a working dairy farm. The farm was mentioned in the Domesday book in 1066, the farm has been in existence in Saxon times.

Farwood Barton is only a short distance from the A30/A303 and A35 between the Blackdown Hills and the Jurassic coast (4miles away). The three holiday cottages are set in an Old Victorian Court Yard, all are spacious, furnished to a high standard, well insulated and underfloor heating using Geo thermal heating. The cottages are South facing with fantastic rural views over the Coly Valley and beyond.

The Wheel House contains 2 en-suite bedrooms and a twin bedroom, and a large family bathroom, In the spacious kitchen/lounge area contains a wood burner and a double sofa bed in its own curtained area. The beds are all pocket sprung for your comfort.  There are original beams.  This house is all on one level which is suitable for most levels of disabilities.  If any of the other cottages booked too for family get to gethers the banquet table can be added in this cottage. 

The Leat House contains 2 en-suite bedrooms, the first is a super king pocket sprung bed, which can also be converted into a twin, the en-suite has a shower over the bath, the other bedroom has a pocket sprung king size bed and the en-suite has a shower. The spacious kitchen/lounge area is fully equipped. The lounge area has a woodburner. This house has 4 shallow steps from the hallway to the kichen/lounge.

The Apple Loft is is a 1 bedroomed,up-side down cottage, to take advantage of the beautiful, rural views. On the ground floor is the king size bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs is the spacious open plan kitchen/lounge/dining room with a fully fitted kitchen, a wood burner, there is also a double sofa bed.  This cottage enjoys has original stonework and beams.

On site is a large lawned area, outside tennis court, games barn with a full size snooker table, table football and a table tennis. Yet only half's an hour drive to Exeter City.

 This spacious, one level cottage has views over open farmland to the Coly Valley and beyond.

It will sleep up to 8 people plus a cot, the cottage has 3 bedrooms.  Two are double en-suite rooms and the other is a twin. Two more can snuggle on a sofa bed in a curtained off area of the lounge.

The dining table sits up to 8 people, but, when more cottages are rented together with family or friends, we will change the table for the banqueting table which will sit up to 14 people easily.

There are just a few steps into the large lawned/patio area which joins the tennis court.  It has its own barbecue and garden furniture.  The cottage has ample parking.

In the lounge is where you find 'the turbine', which is covered with safety glass and was last used 70 years ago to drive milling and other old machinery.

 The Leat House is set in a large Victorian Court Yard, being converted from an old barn for milking cows.  The Cottage is South facing with panorimic views out over the unique, unchanging Coly Valley.

The Leat House has 2 bedrooms which sleep up to 4 plus 1, plus a cot , the master bedroom has a super king, pocket sprung bed, which can convert into a twin, the en-suite has a shower over the bath, the other bedroom is also en-suite having a king sizse pocket sprung bed, in the en-suite it has a shower.  The Leat House is a spacious, open plan, well-equipped Kitchen/Dining/Lounge area. Including a washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave oven, fridge with freezer department, kettle and toaster.  All rooms have a vaulted ceiling with origional beams and brick features.  The Lounge has a log burner for cosy nights in.  There is a 32" TV and separate DVD player, radio/CD player, a selection of DVD's, books and games for your use.

It has its own patio area with table and chairs.  Ample parking.

This recently converted cottage enjoys having its origional exposed oak beams, flint walling and brick features.  It is built as an up-side down house to take advantage of the beautiful, panoramic rural views of the Coly Valley.  It is set in a large Victorian Court Yard.

The Cottage includes a king-size bedroom and bathroom.  A comfortable sofa bed in the lounge and a cot allow sleeping for up to 4 people plus a cot.  The open plan Kitchen/Dining/Lounge area has a log burner for cosy nights in, the dining table seats up to 4, 32" TV seperate DVD player, radio with CD player, a supply of books and DVD's and games.  The Kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, electric kettle, microwave oven, toaster, fridge with freezer department and wine rack.  The cottage also includes a washer/dryer.

 Approach from Honiton, travelling through Honiton High Street, turn beside Lloyds TSB Bank into New Street, follow this road right up past the railway station to mini round-about, take the first exit left, then immediately right, up to the top of the hill, stay on that road right past Honiton Golf Club, heading for Colyton, stay on that road for 3.5 miles approx.  (Not going over any white lines), until you come to a cross roads called Farwood Cross, carry on around that corner heading for Southleigh.  Farwood Barton Holiday Cottages is just past the cross on the left hand side.
