Details

11 warm, comfortable self catering cottages set in 35 acres of glorious coastland with superb views, a private (dog friendly) beach and the SW Coastal Footpath. The tranquility, friendly atmosphere and animal feeding/handling sessions (including alpacas, sheep, pigs, goats, poultry, rabbits & guinea pigs) are things that bring our visitors back time and again. Children are very welcome and we have a children's play area (including baby swing and slide and Wendy house) in our orchard and we can provide cots, stairgates and highchairs free of charge. Likewise dogs are welcome and we have a dog exercise field and we can provide dog beds, towels, furniture covers etc.

Some of our cottages date back to pre 1800 and were the original farm workers cottages, so they are a bit higgledy piggledy and full of character! Likewise our Round Barn is a conversion (as its name suggests) of a round building that used to house a 'jenny ring' where the donkey helped to grind the corn. Other cottages are more recent conversions of stables and part of a piggery. Many have sea views and all have well equipped kitchens and good heating. Partridge and Kingfisher cottages both have 4 poster double beds.

We try to make your holiday catering as easy as possible and you can have your groceries delivered or you can buy homecooked food made with local produce wherever possible, from our freezer. You can also buy our own lamb and port from our freezer - it is delicious and sells quickly!

Widmouth Farm is very easy to find yet you feel as if you are miles from anywhere as we nestle in a valley. It is only 1 mile to the pub in either direction and you can walk there on the coastal footpath during daylight. We are also only half a mile from Ilfracombe Golf Club one way and half a mile the other way to Watermouth Castle, a wonderful Victorian Museum and family theme park with beautiful gardens.

The wonderful open expanses and glorious walks of Exmoor are only 5 minutes by car to our East. To our West are the fabulous beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton and the Braunton Burrows - the World Bioshpere sight all within 15 minutes drive.
