Our imposing stone farmhouse and its courtyard of traditional barns commands a fine position overlooking the beautiful Exe Valley, with its wooded hillsides and peaceful river meadows; from your window and from our small, but pleasant, garden in summer, you can see buzzards soaring overhead and by autumn the rich, golden colours reflect the setting sun. Share the romance of the film "Landgirls" and TV drama partly filmed here.
From the highest field on the farm, a splendid panorama of surrounding countryside unfolds with Exmoor National Park in the distance. We can suggest walks over our pasture and woodland and our guests regularly spot the native Exmoor red deer as well as badgers, foxes, owls, wild orchids and a host of other flora and fauna. Here shepherding is still done the traditional way with Border collies. We are pleased to show visitors life on the farm, especially children, if they wish. Our collies are also trained for local sheepdog trials.
The majestic scenenry of Exmoor National Park is close by, beaches are easily accessible; enjoy various country pursuits and attractions, leisurely cream teas and several interesting National Trust houses and gardens. While you are here, we trust time will run a little more slowly and that you will be captivated by this special corner of Devon such that, once discovered, you will want to return.
