Owl Cottage & Wild Rose

Short breaks of 2 nights available. A rural location offering tranquillity of countryside yet only 3 miles from Jedburgh and an hours drive from Edinburgh, Carlisle and Newcastle. The farm is run by husband and wife team Matt and Lucy Tile extending to 1100 acres, mainly down to grass.

The cottages have been modernised and upgraded in recent years although Matt and Lucy have tried to retain some of the original character which is particularly evident in Wild Rose. Owl Cottage has a more modern feel with laminate floors throughout and a games room with snooker table and football table for those family tournaments! This room has a tiled floor so is great for those wet dog days. Owl Cottage has a woodburner in the lounge and oil fired central heating whilst Wild Rose has an open fire and oil central heating. Oil and wood is included in the price.

If you wish to have a relaxing holiday in the scottish countryside yet near enough to visitor attractions to go sightseeing then The Bairnkine is the ideal destination for you. Rent both the cottages for a family get together or friends reunion.

Matt and Lucy planted 16000 new trees on the farm three years ago, as well as creating farm walks and erecting a bird hide by one of the ponds. Another pond has been developed this year on the farm. Lots of wildlife there already over the summer.
