Forest Cottage is set in 4 acres of beautiful gardens. Children of all ages are welcome, pets are allowed. FREE WIFI

This is a family run self catering holiday business with 4 cottages, and also the home of Paul and Michelle Martin and their two young children.  We have free range chickens which children are allowed to help feed. There are 5 sheep in our paddock often with lambs and they are very friendly and like to be stroked. For the children there is a play area with timber fort, swings and slides, and we have a games room and a tennis court for everyone's enjoyment.

The tranquil rural setting makes it the perfect place in which to relax and an ideal base from which to explore the many attractions of Mid Wales including Powis Castle National Trust at Welshpool. Less than a mile away is Kerry village which has a pub restaurant and it is a 5 minute drive from Newtown. On the border of Powys and Shropshire, offer a comfortable rural retreat away from the rush and bustle of modern life.

Forest Cottage accommodates 4 people. The furnishings and decoration of the cottage has a style which respects the original architecture. Forest Cottage has its own garden/patio area , a private hot tub and Wifi is FREE

Forest Cottage has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4+1. It has been extensively restored and includes original features such as the Edwardian feature fireplace and iron fireplaces in bedrooms. Wifi available.  It has a Private Hot Tub.

Master bedroom has a kingsize iron bedstead, wardrobe with drawers. original iron fireplace.  Twin room has 2 pine single beds, a wardrobe and chest of drawers, original iron fireplace.  Both have large sash windows looking out over the garden.  Bathroom and separate shower room.  Kitchen is equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and built in electric oven and hob.  Shared utility room.

An archway connects the sitting and dining rooms with solid oak flooring throughout. Dining room includes an ornate Edwardian fireplace and a bay window which looks out into the garden. Sitting room has a wood burning stove and satellite TV.

Additional Directions Information

In the heart of Mid Wales, Newtown is about a 1.5 hour drive from Birmingham.

Directions from Newtown: Take the A489 (Kerry Rd at McDonald's traffic lights) for 3 miles and just before you enter Kerry, take the right turning sign posted The Forest into Gilfach Lane. Follow the narrow winding lane for approximately 3/4 and the entrance to The Forest Cottages has black metal gates and is on the left, just past the brook.

Directions from Welshpool: Take the A483 all the way to Newtown (KFC's traffic lights) and follow above. If you use Sat Nav you may be directed onto a narrow lane at Morrison's Supermarket. The lane cuts the corner but is not recommended for most cars.
