Farm Stay group wins prize at RHS Spring Gardening Show

The Heart of England members manned a Farm Stay stand at the RHS Spring Gardening Show held at the Three Counties Showground this month, in the shadow of the majestic Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. This was a first for Farm Stay, the stand being part of our activities sponsored by the RDPE funding granted for our “Wake Up To The Heart” project. Much to our surprise and delight we were awarded Third Prize by the RHS judges for our stand in the Gardeners Shopping Pavilion themed around a Farm Stay Garden.
Led by Barbara Palmer, our Regional Director, Farm Stay members from local groups throughout the Heart region manned the stand for the four days of the show, that had to be one of the coldest on record.
We introduced Farm Stay to many new people and were pleased to see several guests who were staying in our local Self Catering and Bed & Breakfast properties. The free samples of cakes made by our members were especially appreciated, particularly Sandy’s Chocolate Tiffin, an old family recipe that she has been kind enough to share with us, and it can be found on our Blog page.
