Quality Guaranteed!
All the farms in this website are part of Farm Stay UK, which means every property is of a high standard and has been inspected and quality assessed under National Tourist Boards’ grading schemes and/or those operated by the motoring organisations (the AA and RAC).
Members are also inspected by their own local group, wherever appropriate, to double check that the highest possible standards of cleanliness, courtesy and service are maintained.
VisitBritain, formerly the English Tourism Council, awards diamonds to guest accommodation, which includes farmhouses. Establishments are rated from 1-5 diamonds and the more diamonds, the greater the level of quality, including customer care.
It awards stars to self-catering accommodation – again 1-5, and this gives you reliable information about the quality of accommodation you can expect – the more stars, the higher the overall level of quality.
The Scottish and Welsh Tourist Boards have similar schemes, but award stars to both serviced and self-catering accommodation. In Northern Ireland, all the accommodation is inspected annually under a statutory system and all the farms listed are of a high standard.
Farms awaiting inspection by their National Tourist Boards and/or the motoring organisations will have the words ‘Awaiting Inspection’ in place of a symbol or award.
Accommodation displaying one of the Accessibility symbols has been checked by a National Tourist Organisation.
Accessible schemes have been developed throughout the UK by VisitBritain, the National Tourist Boards and the relevant disability organisations in conjunction with Holiday Care.
They are designed to provide reliable information on standards and facilities to travellers with disabilities. Additional help and guidance on finding suitable holiday accommodation for those with special needs can be obtained from Holiday Care on 0845 124 9971 (www.holidaycare.org).
