The route passes through meadows, woodland, and well behaved dogs can be off lead for the whole walk. There are also bird hides to stop and view the wildlife. It's great for children as you can feed the ducks, have a bite to eat at the cafe, or take a picnic and play in the adventure playground (just note that dogs aren't allowed in this gated area)

Salcey Forest is an oasis of nature only 7 miles from the centre of Northampton. Wildlife and history are in abundance at this ancient semi-natural woodland. There are extensive trails to help you explore the forest, with three walking trails, two of which are surfaced easy-access paths. Or you might fancy going off the main track into the woods which would require your wellies! The dogs can go off lead all the way round the site. The visitor hub has a cafe, toilets, a fenced children's play area, information point and picnic areas.


Dogs on leads are welcome at Kirby Hall, one of England's greatest Elizabethan mansions; why not take a wander around the gardens, ruined areas, and grounds with your dog, and explore all that it has to offer?
