Stargazing in Scotland

Scotland's wild and untouched landscapes are some of the most breathtaking in the U.K. One of the greatest benefits of this is how little light pollution Scotland suffers, and some of the greatest stargazing spots can be found here.

Galloway Forest Park was given the honour of being the first dark sky park in the U.K. back in 2009.  It maintains a reputation for being one of the top spots in the country to see the full grandeur of the night sky.  At certain times throughout the year you can experience guided talks of the stars from guest speakers.

Loch Doon features the World's only public use observatory in a Dark Sky Park.  With Scotland's crystal clear skies it is possible to make out the Andromeda Galaxy with the naked eye, and (if you are are very lucky) at select times of the year you can bear witness to the majesty of the Northern Lights.

Farm Stay features properties in or near Dark Sky areas across Scotland - all perfect for quiet nights spent stargazing.
