The Newts Farm TrailHunting Hall, Northumberland Category Outdoor Activities
Explore the beautiful countryside of North Northumberland at Hunting Hall, a farm working to look after wildlife and protect the environment. This gentle walk of 2¾ mile though the beautiful countryside of North Northumberland includes descriptions of some of the many wildlife conservation projects that take place on the farm. The trail begins along an ancient tree lined lonnen and passes fields of crops, young woodlands and small ponds, before following the stream through a beautiful old meadow. The farm is a haven for wildlife and there are often hares, roe deer, herons, partridges, skylarks, yellowhammers and all sorts of insects and wild flowers to be seen on the trail.
The farm trail was created by the teenagers of the Northumberland Eco Wild Team who participated in several wildlife projects on the farm and wanted to share and explain their work. The NEWTs designed trail leaflets and information panels to help families enjoy this walk through peaceful farmland.
