    Double En-Suite

    Best Bed room
  • image description
    Sleeps 2
  • £72 - £75 per room per night

Room 2 (also known as the Best Bed Room), a spacious room has a lovely view over Dolfan Hill. This hill changes colour with seasons, it is a rusty red in the autumn, green in spring and summer and white if there is snowfall. One can also observe the sheep and the lambs in the field which we call the Green Acre. This is the field where we put all our “special sheep”- pet sheep, pedigree sheep etc.

Laura Ashley fabrics, wallpaper and paint were use to decorate this room. The large rosewood wardrobe belonged to our late dear old friend and neighbour, Frank Jones. Monica and David helped him move house when he retired and the wardrobe was too big for the little cottage. The wardrobe and was then left outside in his garden with the mirrored door lying flat on the grass. One day our cows broke into his garden and smashed the mirror. Poor Frank was so distraught that he said: “Monica, if you are able to get the mirror repaired, you can have the wardrobe as thanks for helping me move…”.

The chest of drawers was acquired at an antique sale and the pink clock belonged to Monica’s grand mother.

    Double En-Suite

    Black and White room
  • image description
    Sleeps 2
  • £72 - £75 per room per night

Room 3 is also known as the Black and White room. This is a king size double ensuite room.

This room was refurbished completely in 2014. The ensuite used to be the family bathroom and was made smaller to increase the size of the bedroom.

This room has a Black and White scheme and has a pastoral view of the field where the rams are kept. One can also see the Dolfan hill which changes colour depending on the time of day and the time of year. This is the most quiet room in the house and all our visitors love this room because: it has a king size bed, a bath (and a shower) and a large ensuite. The antique furniture in this room has been lovingly restored and painted for a new lease of life. The knobs and the top of the pine chest of drawers have been left unpainted and we are very pleased with the new look.

The bed side tables are from Laura Ashley, but were found in an Antique shop, restored and painted they look really lovely.
