After each letting check wiring and plugs are in good condition, wiring renewed 2008.
Electric smoke & heat alarms, tested after each let and professionally tested each year.
Emergency lighting comes on in the event of any power failure
4. Fire notice for guests is in the entrance hall and is pointed out when they arrive.
Approached by a gravel drive with a well lit car park and a slightly inclined gravelled path. Our double Bed & Breakfast accommodation is on the ground floor with one 6" step, own private entrance and access to the dining, there are no steps indoors. Tastefully and comfortably furnished with sofa, Freeview TV and Radio alarm. The en-suite bathroom has a large roll top bath.
There is a well-stocked welcome tray with a variety of teas, coffee and hot chocolate, a mini--fridge with fresh milk.
There is a framed notice for guests in the entrance hall, giving emergency telephone numbers and the fire notice. Information folders with recommendations of places to eat and visit and maps of the local area are also provided. No smoking or pets are allowed indoors.

Wireless broadband. Mobile phone signal is sporadic at Linley Cottage, the Orange and Vodafone networks tend to be the most likely to get a slight signal, however this is not guaranteed. If you have a smartphone you should be able to use the wireless broadband to make and receive calls. Guests may use our cordless house phone on request.
We have wonderful local restaurants and pubs for meals which we are happy to book for you in advance or on arrival.
We are located off a country lane, approximately 1 mile from the village of Aston on Clun, with a public house, garage, community shop and village hall. The hamlet of Hopesay is within easy walking distance and has a church and limited opening tea room.
Our location is peaceful with dark skies, but not ideally suited for those travelling without a car, ideal for walkers, offering prime walking straight from the doorstep, or those wishing to visit beautiful South Shropshire, Mid Wales & North Herefordshire.
There is limited public transport. The nearest bus stop is 1 mile at Aston on Clun, the nearest train service is approximately 2 miles at Broome (Heaart of Wales Line), main line train station and bus service at Craven Arms is approximately 3 miles and Ludlow & Church Stretton 10 miles.
Guests are welcome to use our garden and grounds, with seating and picnic tables around our wildlife pool and other areas.

Welcome to Linley Cottage B&B, Hesterworth, set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, perfectly placed to explore South Shropshire, North Herefordshire & Mid Wales.
The ensuite double room has a private entrance on the ground floor, with hospitality tray, mini fridge, satellite TV, excellent WIFI and seating area. With access to the dining room for delicious breakfasts, using local and/or organic produce wherever possible. Special diets catered for on request.
Linley Cottage B&B, Hesterworth is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the tiny Village of Hopesay lies nestled in the South Shropshire Hills, yet close to amenities, with the beautiful medieval town of Ludlow 10 miles, Shropshire's own "Little Switzerland" and the Long Mynd are a short drive away. Hesterworth stands on a rise, surrounded by trees, fields and gardens, including our own wildlife pool, offering prime prime walking straight from the door step, route 3 of The Shropshire Way passes just a few hundred metres away. We are fortunate to be close to Shropshire Hills, Discovery Centre at Craven Arms.
Additional Directions Information
Leave the A49 at Craven Arms on the B4368 sign posted Clun. Turn right in Aston-on-Clun over the bridge signed Hesterworth & Hopesay. Go past the entrance to Hesterworth House (shortly after the Hopesay sign), past Hesterhaven (which is alongside the road on the right-hand side with a tall brick wall), immediately after Hesterhaven turn right over a cattlegrid. Follow the road around the bend to the right and then turn up a bank to the left.. You will find plenty of parking outside Linley Cottage.
If you are using a sat nav the postcode is SY7 8EX. If you want to use mostly main roads to get to Hesterworth it's best to put a via point of Craven Arms.
If you arrive after dark our car park is well lit, ring bell on Linley Cottage door (with light over).
