It's perfect for a quiet holiday for two or a peaceful retreat for one. Dogs are very welcome and stay for free. Enjoy the wide open dark skies of the Cambrian Mountains from your balcony, and long countryside walks directly from your door. Views of hills and pastures surround you, although pubs and shops are only one mile away. By car, beautiful dog-friendly beaches are nearby as the crow flies, and reached in just over half an hour.

Welcome to peace and tranquility in the beautiful Welsh countryside, where red kites soar overhead, seas beckon to the west, and the Cambrian Mountains rise in all other directions. A 200-year-old barn tucked into a hillside, Y Granar enjoys sweeping countryside views from the balcony at the same time as easy one-level access from the quiet lane.

The stunning interior features fieldstone walls and an opulent four-poster bed with organic linens.

The fully-equipped country kitchen includes a Rangemaster cooker. Floors are kept cozy by underfloor heating flowing from a green clean energy-efficient biomass system fuelled by locally-sourced woodchips.

Enjoy views through the stable door whilst seated by the wood-burning stove or lying in the freestanding roll-top bath. Gaze upon dark night skies from the balcony.

Dogs of any size are welcome! There is a dog welcome pack and a four-poster dog bed.

Maps will guide you through beautiful dog-friendly walks from your door. Open moorlands can be reached on foot within 30 minutes.

Horses can enjoy miles of lanes and open access land directly from the property.

There are never any additional pet charges. Your cats are welcome, too.

Tregaron is a great area for horse riding. There are miles and miles of open access land in the Cambrian Mountains and forests, as well as country lanes regularly used for riding, which you can take advantage of directly from Tan yr Allt.

In the 1960s, Tregaron was a major Pony Trekking Center, although that came to an end after the local railway line closed. There are several photos of pony trekking on this website: https://www.francisfrith.com/tregaron/photos You will find that apart from some trees having grown larger, very little has changed!

On a DIY basis, horse guests can have one acre of meadow with a field shelter, and there is off-road parking for your horse box. You can, of course, bring your dogs, too.

Tan yr Allt is one mile from the centre of Tregaron. From the market square in Tregaron, bear left to take the road sign-posted for Soar-y-Mynydd and Abergwesyn. At one mile, look for a red phone box on the left, and then turn right about 100 feet afterward - just before the sign post reading "Abergwesyn (Mountain Road)". Up the lane, Tan yr Allt is the first property on the right.

A GPS with the post code should take you to the lane, but is likely to tell you to go beyond the house. Stop in the first lay-by on the right - that's your very own parking space.
