Windlehill Farm is a 10 acre organic farm set in quiet countryside between Derby and Ashbourne.
Our cosy, well-equipped, self catering cottage ‘The Chop House’ sleeps 6 people and is open all year.

Fully equipped, and dog friendly we welcome families and pets.

Our situation is very rural, and is ideal for a relaxing break away from it all.

Windlehill Farm is a small organic farm set in quiet countrysire south of Ashbourne.

Our family have farmed here since the 1880s and we are proud of our farming heritage.

The Chop House was originally built in 1858 as the farm corn shed.and has one twin / double and two twin bedrooms, kitchen/dining room, comfortable sitting room, bathroom with shower and separate toilet. It has a pretty, well fenced garden with table and seating.

It is fully equipped for family stays. There is ample parking on site.

Well behaved pets are welcome. Our garden and parking area are well fenced for dogs. There are pleasant local walks along quiet roads.

Farm visits can be arranged with our family farm next door.

We are ideally placed for visiting the many attractions of the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District, The Potteries and The Staffordshire Moorlands. We are close to the stunning National Trust properties of Kedleston Hall, Sudbury Hall and Calke Abbey  
and within easy driving distance of Chatsworth House.
Alton Towers is just 15 miles away along country lanes.

 The Chop House was originally built in 1858 as the farm corn shed. It is situated on the edge of the farm  and overlooks the farm pond where herons, moorhens and other wild life are regular visitors.

The Chop House has 3 bedrooms - one twin / double and two twin bedrooms, kitchen/dining room, comfortable sitting room, bathroom with bath/shower, toilet and there is also an additional separate toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge / freezer, cooker, microwave, washer / dryer. The pleasant sitting room has plenty of space for 6 people and has TV with DVD player. Free Wifi is available for guests.

Outside there is a pretty, well fenced garden suitable for small children and pets, with table and seating.

We are just 15 miles from Alton Towers.

Well behaved pets are welcome.

There is ample parking on site.

Car arrival: We are just 4 miles from the A50 and 20 miles from the M1. From the A50 take the Derby west (Etwall or Hilton) turn. Follow the A516 for Derby and take the first left signed for Sutton On The Hill (Ash Lane). After Approximately three miles turn left (signed Longford or Thuvaston. NOTE. DO NOT take turns signed for Sutton On The Hill.) Then take first right at the Methodist Chapel (Back Lane). The farm is one mile on the right next to the first set of crossroads and a pond.
