At Smallicombe we offer not only a fantastic place to stay but an authentic farm experience in a relaxing atmosphere. You can chill out in the hot tub while the children enjoy the play area and afterwards cook up a feast in our covered outdoor kitchen, with BBQ and Pizza oven. Unwind on the decking with a glass of something cold. All the accommodation enjoy stunning views down the valley. If you can tear yourself away from the farm we are only a stone’s throw from the Jurassic coast, Dartmoor and for a cultural and shopping experience, Exeter city is only 30 mins.

Smallicombe Farm is a small working rare breed farm with four award winning self-catering barns. Chill out in the peace and tranquillity of well-equipped accommodation enjoying idyllic views over grazing sheep and cattle. Roam our ancient woodland abounding with wildlife or the nearby Jurassic Coast. Meet prize winning rare breed pigs their cute piglets. At night we become a stargazers paradise. Snuggle up around the Fire Pit or in the Hot Tub and marvel at the stars and their constellations that can be seen in our dark sky, listen out for the owls or spot the bats in flight.

The Granary is a ground floor 2 bedroom barn, double and triple room, with patio doors opening up onto a large lawn overlooking the stunning valley. It has wheelchair access.

The Cider Barrel is a 2 storey conversion with a double, king/twin and twin room. Again with large patio doors opening up onto a lawn area.

The Hayloft is a Gold award winning pent house with a king/twin room roll top bath and stunning view.

The Inglenook is a cosy ground floor 1 bedroom cottage with double/triple in the main farmhouse with a large traditional inglenook fireplace in the lounge.

East Devon is a bit of a hidden gem, a truly beautiful area with the stunning Jurassic coastline and fishing villages such as Beer and Branscombe and the wonderful elegant coastal towns of Lyme Regis and Sidmouth. Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Topsham are also close by with the recently opened River Exe Cycle Trail to explore. Colyton itself is a small town with a huge history. Originally Saxon, it has a network of streets and pretty thatched cottages, a lovely historic church and The Seaton Tramway station which takes you alongside the Axe Estuary through the Seaton Marshes Conservation Area and on to the seaside town of Seaton. There are many attractions nearby including The Donkey Sanctuary and Pecorama model railway centre in Beer. We are also a perfect location for a stay when visiting Hugh Fernleigh-Whittingstall's River Cottage near Axminster. Carnival season starts towards the end of the summer and is a sight to behold. The carnival floats are brightly lit and flamboyant and the atmosphere is amazing. There are festivals and carnivals in most of the towns and villages including 'Tar Barrels' in Ottery St Mary where burning barrels are run down the street until they fall to pieces and can't be held any longer!

The Inglenook is a self-contained wing of the farmhouse opening out on to the garden. From the living room you can look right across the valley to the woods and rolling fields of grazing cattle or sheep.

There is one bedroom with twin/double linked beds. The bedroom can have a cot or a childs bed added if required.

The cosy living room has a large inglenook with the remains of an original bread oven. There is a digital colour television with DVD player and CD player with radio. The kitchen has all modern equipment including a dishwasher plus pine table and chairs. The ensuite bathroom has a bath plus over bath shower. This also has a bedsettee.

The accommodation is mainly ground floor with one step between the living room and the kitchen. It is ideal for young families or ambulant disabled guests.
