Two cottages with access to a heated outdoor pool, tennis court and coarse fishing situated on a small farm with 60 acres of pasture and woodland grazed by rare breed cattle and sheep.

Our cottages are part of a sympathetic barn conversion (previously cattle barn then stabling), with exposed beams, tiled ground floor, oak staircase and upstairs floorboards. Each cottage has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings and all bedrooms are en suite.

Dogs are welcome subject to arrangement.

Short breaks are available (Mon-Fri or Fri-Mon).

Guests have shared access to a heated outdoor swimming pool (April to September weather permitting), a hard tennis court within the farmhouse grounds, and family friendly coarse fishing is exclusively available to guests on our 1.6 acre lake on the farm. 

Having retired from dairy farming 25 years ago, the farm is now a tranquil haven for wildlife, both mammals and birds. We regularly have sightings of kingfishers, barn owls and deer, and are continually planting additional trees and wildflowers such as bluebells. Wildlife projects in the last couple of years include the creation of some new ponds and scrapes and the planting of more wild flowers. 

We have our own well on the farm supplying water, a biomass boiler which heats the cottages and other units on the farm, and solar panels generating electricity. 

The cottages offer a great base to explore the local area with attractions such as Hedingham Castle and Hedingham Steam railway, local vineyards and breweries, some great cycle routes (Stour Valley) and only a short drive to larger amenities eg Colchester or Cambridge
