Birdsnest Cottage is an oasis of calm, nestled in a corner of glorious Gloucestershire. Relax in the converted barn and enjoy the amazing countryside, local food and places of interest.

This cottage provides modern living with an open plan ground floor and two en-suite bedrooms upstairs.  This tranquil spot is great for exploring the Cotswolds, Malverns and the Forest Of Dean.
The downstairs comprises of an open plan living and eating area with a fully equipped kitchen and dining table, with a spacious living area with sofas a smart TV, superfast broadband and WiFi. Upstairs lead up to two bedrooms both with ensuite bathrooms.
The large patio area outside includes an outdoor sofa, patio furniture and BBQ.

The cottage was part of a former stable block dating back 300 years. It is Grade One listed as it is within feet of the Church. This is one of the oldest Saxon Churches in the country and has a host of Saxon workmanship on show inside and outside of the building.

Deerhurst is also host to another Saxon building Odda’s Chapel which is now owned by English Heritage.

The Cottage has been thoughtfully restored, leaving all the structural beams and the craftsmanship used to construct this building 300 years ago.

All the floors are oak throughout, and the cottage is heated with under floor heating and has a thermostat in each room to adjust the temperature to your liking. 

The Living area  has two large sofas and a 43” Smart TV with DVD player and stereo. Superfast broadband and WiFi

The wooden staircase leads up to two en suite bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is a large room with a King Size bed and a French windows looking over the courtyard to the fields beyond.

Bedroom 2 is a twin bedded room, with an en suite shower room, including toilet and sink.

Towels and bed linen are provided.

Both bedrooms have TV’s,  hairdryers and wardrobes , extra blankets and pillows are also available.

The cottage has pictures hanging from local artists and photographers, these are available to purchase or follow the links to their websites.

For small children a travel cot and high chair are available on request.

There is a large seating area outside  the cottage, which has comfortable outdoor table and chairs in which to relax and has lighting for those balmy summer evenings.

Dogs accepted, by arrangement please.

The cottage provides modern living with an open plan ground floor and two en -suite bedrooms. This tranquil spot is great for exploring the Cotswolds, Malvern Hills and Forest of Dean.

The cottage has been sympathetically restored and has original beams and limestone washed stone walls inside. However it has all the comforts of modern living, with under floor heating throughout and a high standard of soft furnishings that compliment the setting.

There are many good places to eat in the area, including local pubs The Farmers Arms, Apperley and The Red Lion at Wainlodes as well as a michelin starred pub The Butchers Arms at Eldersfield a few miles away. There are many Festivals in Cheltenham during the year starting with the famous four day horse racing festival in March to the Literary festival in the Autumn. There are many places to explore, Tewkesbury, Gloucester, Cheltenham,Ledbury and Malvern including the stuning Malvern Hills and Cotswolds.

 Directions from M5 at Tewkesbury
1. From M 5 Jnc 9 take  A 438 towards Tewkesbury.
2. At traffic lights turn left onto A 38 towards Gloucester.
3. Go straight over first roundabout.
4. Take third exit off second roundabout.
5. At Gupshill (Wooden horses) roundabout take first exit towards Gloucester on A 38.
6. Go straight on at traffic lights by Odessa Inn.
7. At next traffic lights turn right onto B4213 for Deerhurst.
8. After ¾ mile turn right for Deerhurst on sharp bend.
9. After 1 mile go straight on up drive between white gates “PRIORY FARM”.
10. At end of drive bear right between walls and park in yard by house and back of  church.
