With far reaching rural views from the cottages themselves and being set into the side of St George's Down we have an abundance of wildlife and farm animals all year round. An ideal base from which to explore all the Island's countryside, beaches and attractions including Carisbrooke Castle , Robin Hill adventure park and Cowes, world famous for yachting, all within fifteen minutes drive. Osborne House and Monkey Haven are also favourites with our guests.

A walk up over our hill joins you up with the Bembridge trail taking you through to Arreton or you can watch glorious sunsets taking in views towards the Solent .

West Standen Farm offers two farm building conversions set across the yard from each other, with the working farm yard beyond.There is easy access to wander to see chickens, Golden Guernsey goats and Shetland ponies with lambs and pigs plus calves from our Aberdeen Angus herd in the main farm area depending on the time of year.

With just two Cottages there is plenty of space for a more personalised experience. Take a step back to enjoy a few simple moments; holding a fresh egg, feeding a lamb or hugging a goat.

The Carriage House is a 17th century building which was converted into a carriage house in 1840. It has now been tastefully transformed into a 3 bedroom holiday home which sleeps 6.

The main hallway has steps leading you into the living area which is comprised of a lounge that includes a log burner, kitchen and dining area. From here there is easy access out to the walled patio. There is a separate toilet off the hallway.

The stairway from the hall leads you to the three bedrooms (a double bedroom with ensuite shower, a twin bedded, hipped ceiling room and a bedroom with bunks) and the bathroom (with shower over the bath).

A back door off the hallway leads to the large walled private garden with paved area and bar-b-que.

The Stable dates back over 200 years and is built with stone from the surrounding downland - Standen means hill of stone.

Set on three levels, taking in the cartshed and the hay loft, it provides the main hallway, a large double bedroom with ensuite shower room, a bedroom with bunks with a bathroom adjacent and a utility room containing a washing machine and tumble dryer.

A stairway takes you up to the loft with its vaulted ceiling and one double room (with King bed), one twin bedded room, shower room and toilet. Both the twin beds and the bunk beds are full size beds.

Stairs at the opposite end lead down from the stable to the cartshed, where you will find the spacious living area comprising of a lounge, dining and kitchen area. There are doors leading out onto the patio and a good sized enclosed garden.

Leaving Newport along St Georges way to Shide, National Tyres are on your right side. You are now on Blackwater road.
