Wonderful walks in every direction from the doorstep, and a great base for exploring this beautiful area teaming with wildlife. There are so many birds including woodpeckers, curlews and owls, as well as deer, highland cows and sheep in the surrounding fields. This is a great place to be for a comfortable and relaxing holiday but within easy reach of the coastal towns and villages of Scarborough, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. Dalby Forest, Goathland and Staithes are also easily accessible.

We have two lovely properties, both furnished to a very high standard. We have fabulous sea and countryside/moorland views. Farm animals in the surrounding fields. The properties can be let separately or together, as they are side by side.

Smugglers Rock House has seven bedrooms (four double, one single, one twin and a treble) and can sleep up to 14 people plus a cot. Each of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room - no queuing for the bathroom in the morning! The entrance hallway leads into the spacious, comfortable lounge with seating for 14, a 55" smart TV, and an electric log burner. There are amazing long distance views from the dual aspect windows. We have a newly fitted kitchen/diner, fully equipped for a large group.  There is a dining table seating 14 and a breakfast bar as well as a large range with induction hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There are french doors, again with the amazing views, which lead out onto the private gated patio area. The staircase in the hallway leads up to the seven bedrooms (six on the first floor and one on the second floor). This is an amazing space to get together with family or friends. A travel cot, highchair and stairgates can be provided on request. There is free high speed fibre wi-fi and off road parking for up to 6 cars.

Smugglers View cottage is an upside down' cottage to take full advantage of the amazing views from the upstairs lounge.  It is fully furnished with everything you could want for a comfortable and relaxing holiday.  The entrance door leads from the gated private patio are into a well equipped dining/kitchen. Two bedrooms, a double and a twin (with 2 x 2'6' beds) and the bathroom with power shower, WC and wash basin are off the hallway. Upstairs is there is a cosy lounge with large flatscreen TV with freeview and a wood burning stove. A travel cot and highchair can be supplied on request. There is free high speed fibre wifi and off road parking for up to 2 cars.

Lovely 'upside down' cottage furnished to a very high standard. in the North York Moors National park with moorland and sea views. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing holiday.  Entrance door leading to a fully equipped kitchen/diner with fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and electric oven with ceramic hob. Off the hallway there are two bedrooms, a double and a twin (2'6" beds), and a bathroom with power shower, WC and wash basin. Upstairs is the spacious lounge with long distance views over the fields and down the coast towards Scarborough and beyond. There is a flat screen TV with freeview and Roku for streaming, and an Alexa Echo Show.

Outside is a private gated patio area with dining table and chairs for an alfresco drink or meal. Listen to the many birds singing, you may hear the woodpecker or curlew and on an evening there are sometimes owls about.

Visit Scarborough, Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby (all only 20/25 minutes drive away) or venture a little further afield to the North York Moors, Dalby Forest, Staithes and Goathland.

Smugglers Rock House is a beautiful house with seven en-suite bathrooms - no queuing or sharing the bathroom.  The house is sitiuated in Ravenscar in the North York Moors National Park and has commanding views from many of the rooms, down the coast to Flamborough Head.There is a spacious lounge with 55" smart TV and an electric wood burning stove.  There is a new, fully equipped kitchen/diner with dining table for 14 and also a breakfast bar. High speed fibre wi-fi throughout the property. This is the ideal house and area to get your family and friends together for a relaxing holiday.

Additional Directions Information

Take the A171 from Scarborough to Whitby. In Cloughton (6 miles north of Scarborough), take the right hand turn off the bend, signposted Ravenscar.  Follow this road for 5 miles. Smugglers Rock is at the top of the hill on the left hand side of the bend (opposite the old windmill). There is parking in the car park around the back of the house with space for up to 6 cars for Smugglers Rock House and up to 2 cars for Smugglers View Cottage.
