Award winning (best self catering accommodation in Cheshire- Visit Cheshire Awards 2022/ 2023), stylish and comfortable cottages in a rural location on a quiet farm close to Chester and the pretty village's of Tattenhall & Tarporley.

Our cottages are situated in the beautiful Cheshire countryside with an abundance of activities and places of interest to visit in the area for all age groups.
We have great access to Chester, which is just a short drive away, with the Roman City and Chester Zoo being 'must do' excursions.
With super pubs in our neighbouring villages you do not have to travel far for a great meal.
Feeling fit? The Sandstone Trail, which is just on our doorstep, is perfect for long or short walks and from it's rocky sandstone pinnacle at English Heritage's Beeston Castle you'll be greeted with far reaching views of Cheshire, Liverpool and North Wales. We are also not too far from Delamere Forest and GoApe for woodland activities and the recently opened BeWilderwood Cheshire.
Just a five minute stroll down the lane from the farm is 'The Ice Cream Farm', Europes largest ice cream parlour.

Both our cottages are superbly equipped for both a weekend break or a week long holiday; perfect for couples, families and friends looking for a break away in the Cheshire countryside.

The Cottage where cheese was once made on the farm, is now a delighftul cottage with a large kitchen/ diner plus three bedrooms that sleep five guests.

The Stable is a cosy, characterful cottage with paneled walls, beams and touches of luxury, sleeping four guests in two bedrooms.

Both cottages offer comfortable beds and considered interiors so that you may be certain of a relaxing stay.

On arrival you will find a pint of milk in a glass bottle along with free range eggs from local hens and a vase of fresh flowers. 

We also offer locally bred and produced breakfast packs at booking (in the fridge and ready for your arrival) but necessities are also catered for with a good supply of tea, coffee and all those little things you shoudn't have to think about when packing for your break away.

Just a little bit about us:

We are a small working farm breeding a hobby flock of sheep including the beautiful rare breed Greyface Dartmoor. Our pygmy goats are an entertaining distraction too whilst wandering across the fields to walk The Shropshire Union canal to Tattenhall Marina or Beeston Castle. 

Perhaps we could take in your supermarket delivery for you pre- arrival or point you in the right direction for a destination farm shop to stock up for your stay.

Our welcome email provides guests with great tips on the surrounding area and being a sociable and respectful family we are happy to help where we can and perhaps offer a good recommendation of where to go and what to do in our diverse county of Cheshire.

A comfortable and tastefully decorated country style cottage sleeping five guests in a king size bedroom, a twin and single bedroom all with beautifully crisp white bed linen.

The family bathroom has been updated for 2023 with a wonderful power shower. Soft white towels for each guest along with eco- friendly hand and body wash.

​The dining kitchen is very well equipped and has a farmhouse style table and comfortable dining chairs for a relaxed meal. 

The sitting room has enough space to sit five people comfortably with two large soft leather sofas and a lovely garden aspect.

To the front of the property is a large garden with outdoor seating and table (comfortable cushions are kept in the cottage along with deckchairs for relaxing) and a charcoal BBQ.

The garden is enclosed by hedging and a picket style fence.

There will be a glass bottle of milk in the fridge for your arrival along with a half dozen fresh free range eggs.

​A good supply of essentials are provided for your stay:

Tea- towels, washing-up liquid, hand wash, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee and sugar along with oil and S&P. A small supply of coffee pods are left for the Nespresso machine.

​All linen is provided along with towels.

​Cot & highchair available on request. (Cot provided with mattress and sheet).

​Dog friendly, 2 small to medium sized dogs maximum.

​The family bathroom has a rainfall power shower, with soft white towels for each guest along with eco- friendly hand and body wash.

​The panelled and beamed sitting room which incorporates a dining area also has a large comfortable chaise sofa plus armchair with a smart TV & Alexa.

​Wifi is available throughout the house.

​Outside is a patio area with outdoor seating and table (comfortable cushions are kept in the cottage along with deckchairs for relaxing on the grass area) and a charcoal BBQ. The grassed area is surrounded with a wooden fence. 

There will be a glass bottle of milk in the fridge for your arrival along with a half dozen fresh free range eggs.

We're not hard to find!

From North Wales take Junction 39 from the A55 and follow the A41 to Whitchurch. The Tattenhall turning can be seen on the left.

From the M6 follow M56, M53 and then the A41 for Whitchurch.

Sat Nav's will get you to The Ice Cream Farm. With The Ice Cream farm on Newton lane (on your right), we're half a mile down the road on the left hand side.
