Westland Farm is set in the beautiful rolling countryside of North Devon, on the edge of Exmoor National Park and close to some truly spectacular beaches, ancient market towns and country pubs, Westland Farm is a little piece of heaven we wish to share with you.

Stay in our charming Shepherd Hut or Drovers Hut, both with private hot tubs. Whatever you decide, you’ll enjoy the same sense of tranquility and blissful back-to-nature simplicity. NEW for 2023 Luxury off grid Glamping accommodation "The Crinkly Cabin" built here on the farm, complete with private Hot Tub and Sauna.

The Shepherd Hut, Drovers Hut and Yurt are close to a babbling brook – a great place for children to build dams or play pooh sticks. There are farm animals to meet and in lambing season, lambs to feed, several people have been lucky enough to see lambs being born.

Westland Farm is situated on the edge of Exmoor National Park, overlooking Wistlandpound Reservoir. Due to our location, you will have access to picturesque walks for all explorers and adventure seekers. We are a working farm with Cattle, sheep, pigs and chickens. Enjoy waking up in the morning, seeing livestock grazing in the surrounding fields and hearing the running water in the stream. During lambing season, you can come and see us in the shed, you may be lucky enough to feed some of the tame lambs. We are more than happy to show you the animals around the farm and tell you more about them. You can also collect freshly laid eggs from the hen house for your breakfast.

How can we forget to mention our lovely farm dog Tug. You may see him pottering around the farm, doing his morning rounds to say hello to everyone. He even gets mentions on Tripadvisor!.

We now have access to  Wistlandpound Reservoir via a footpath, which is a short walk across the fields. Due to livestock in the fields, please keep dogs on a lead whilst on the footpath. 

As we are situated in a nice secluded spot, activites are a short drive from the farm. We are very lucky to have such great places around us for you to enjoy, which we will provide in a welcome pack. This will contain all the information for great pubs, beaches, walks and daydrips for you to enjoy whilst you here.

There are 16 beaches within easy reach from the farm. Some are brilliant for long walks, some are dog friendly, some have great surf, others have great rock pools, and some are rather secret and difficult to find, which are great for those who love exploring. 

There are many good pubs around the area that serve lovely, locally produced food. We advise that you pre book your table to avoid dissapointment. 

We have a small supply of home produced burgers, sausages, steaks, chops and bacon for sale.  All our beef and lamb is grass fed.  Our beef, pork and lamb have a total of 10 food miles. 

Our nearest shop is Beshill Farm Shop. Selling local produce, the pork often comes from our farm.  Also licenced, selling locally produced ciders, beers and local gins and wines.  Bread can be ordered, they will deliver here for free.  Mention Westland Farm when you call and Terry will give you 10% off your first order.

All of our accomodation has it's own private hot tub, to enjoy and evening under the stars, a great way to relax and unwind. We look forward to welcoming you to our farm, for a well earnt break and tranquility of country life.

The new Cabin (made from shipping containers, converted by ourselves here on the farm) set privately in a 3 acre field next to a babbling stream, at the bottom of the farm where there are lovely views of the surrounding North Devon Countryside.  Couples and families can enjoy the peace and tranquillity away from the stresses and strains of everyday life.

Walk over the wooden bridge to the Cabin, children can play in the stream, add some more stones to the dam or just run around the 3 acre field.

The Crinkly Cabin contains a kitchen with off grid fridge, a two burner gas hob, hot and cold water, we made the kitchen worktop ourselves from concrete with semi-precious stones set in.  There is an open plan living area with double doors giving access to the field the cabin is set in. In the living area is a wood burning stove with small oven above.  There are two bedrooms each capable of sleeping up to 4.  With a kingsize bed in each room, a single day bed with an occasional bed underneath, this bed can be moved from room to room if required. Just outside the door is the shower room with flushing loo, sink and large shower, hot water is provided by a gas boiler.   

In a secluded area for cabin guests only, is a firepit with bbq plate, wood fired sauna, hot tub and outside seating

A short walk away, at the top of the field, past the chickens from whom you are welcome to collect fresh eggs for your breakfast,  are more toilets,  showers, a bigger fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble drier and electric sockets in case you can’t quite manage off grid for too long.

Prices for the Crinkly Cabin

£185 per night for all bookings of two nights or more for up to four people, there after £12.50 per person per night for adults, £6 for children.  Well behaved dogs are welcome in the cabin £5 a night. 10% Discount on all bookings of 7 nights.

Our home built shepherd hut is beautifully equipped with everything you will need for a relaxing, memorable, comfortable stay.  There is a comfy kingsize bed and a childs bunk above with memory foam mattresses and made up with fresh duvets, plump pillows and beautiful linen.  The kitchen area contains a small sink with running water, single gas hob, pretty china crockery, kitchen and cooking utensils.  The wood burning stove will keep you toasty warm and the views from the stable door towards Wistlandpound Reservoir are amazing.
The Shepherd Hut is set away on its own and has a fenced garden, outside seating and a private fire pit.  A Dutch oven is available for cooking on the open fire.

The shepherd’s hut was traditionally used in the 19th and 20th century by shepherds during sheep raising and lambing. They were also used while moving flocks around for “natural fertilizer” purposes.

Shepherd’s huts often had iron wheels and corrugated iron tops. We’ve built this one ourselves and reinvented it slightly it’s the perfect romantic get away.  Come and live out your childhood gypsy dreams 

Camping is also available next to the Shepherds hut for children or extra adults. There is a double ensuit bed and breakfast room in the farm house, available for friends or relations who wish to join you, but for whom camping or glamping is not for them.
The Shepherd Hut is comfy, cosy, warm and romantic, perfect for a break in the North Devon countryside.

Come and stay in our lovely Drovers Hut, built on an ex-army ammunitions trailer, it was bought by a local farmer who planned to turn it into a large trailer for carrying hay bales.  We found it in a hedge, covered in ivy and with a tree growing up through it.  We bought it, de treed it and turned it into this lovely, cosy, romantic hut.

The Drovers Hut has sleeping for 5-6, including a king size bed, single bunks and a trestle bed which pulls out from under the main king size bed.

It has a gorgeous country kitchen with Belfast sink, solid oak worktop, dresser top, two burner gas hob, a table and benches and a wonderful wood burning range stove with oven and hobs above.  Lighting is powered by solar panels and candles for added ambiance.  The kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery. 

All the beds have comfy memory foam mattresses, plump pillows and are made up with quality linen.

Adjacent private bathroom with a flushing loo, handbaisin and hot shower.

The drovers hut is fitted out beautifully, in a lovely peaceful corner of the field, has a decking area which has two gates to secure it for dogs or children, outdoor seating, table, fire pit and bbq.

There is access, via a style to a wild garden with the stream running through it.  Perfect for, just sitting quietly with nature, exploring, bear hunts or searching for fairies!

Well behaved dogs welcome  £5 per night

Nets of logs available for the stove, firepit and hot tub at £6 for a large net.
