The Gold and Silver Awards from VisitEngland

The Gold and Silver awards are given in recognition of exceptional quality or for outperforming a star rating by an individual accommodation. B&Bs can achieve either a Silver or Gold award, whereas Self-Catering can achieve a Gold award only.

The assessors make recommendations during each assessments and look at the quality provided in all areas. This includes housekeeping, hospitality, bedrooms, bathrooms and food if provided, to ensure it meets the highest quality for the star level achieved. The star ratings are based on a combination of quality, range of facilities and level of service offered, Gold and Silver awards are based solely on quality.

The Gold and Silver awards can help guest find those extra special places where the owner has gone the extra mile, regardless of the size, style or star rating of the property.

The VisitEngland Breakfast Award

If an accommodation achieves exceptionally high scores for the quality of their breakfast they will qualify for the VisitEngland Breakfast award. The visiting assessor will score the breakfast served based on the following criteria:

• Choice and range of dishes offered
• Presentation and culinary skills
• Quality of ingredients/produce
• Breakfast service/hospitality

You will see The Breakfast award logo above on all Farm Stay properties where this has been achieved.
