Walking Holidays in Lincolnshire

For those walking enthusiasts you should look no further than Lincolnshire for your next holiday.  If you relish undisturbed and unspoilt countryside you will find exactly what you’re looking for here as it is one of the most charming rural areas of England. The terrain of Lincolnshire is famously flat, making this area particularly easy to walk in for older or more inexperienced walkers. The upside of this is that the views from the higher areas, such as the Lincolnshire Wolds, are fantastic and you can take in the magnificent vistas where you can see for miles and miles of romantic and picturesque countryside.

What’s more, Farm Stay can help you locate the perfect accommodation to serve as a base for your walking excursions.  Our self-catering farm cottages in Lincolnshire come fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay.  Or you may prefer to stay in a traditional farmhouse bed and breakfast, where you can tuck into a hearty breakfast including fresh local Lincolnshire produce.

You really are spoilt for walking options in Lincolnshire.  The beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  You can explore the many superb walks on your own, with a guide or join one of the organised walks during the annual Lincolnshire Wolds Walking Festival.

In Lincolnshire there are many options for walking destinations ripe for exploration for all levels of fitness. These include from the challenging Viking Way, which covers 147 miles from the mighty Humber Bridge to Oakham in Rutland, following the edge of historic Dane Law. If this is too challenging many smaller towns have local walks which tour areas of historic importance, picturesque countryside and romantic locations, with the city of Lincoln in particular possessing some spectacular city walks and views. For the more nature orientated the walks around the classical seaside town of Cleethorpes includes some newly established salt marshes providing excellent bird watching opportunities. Or for the mammal lover you could go check out the famous Donna Nook colony for a chance to see seals in their natural habitats.

Many of the walks and trails across Lincolnshire are pet and dog friendly, with local pubs often providing facilities for your canine walking companion.

With all that Lincolnshire has to offer for a walking holiday, combined with Farm Stay’s unique choice of quality accommodation, why look elsewhere?
