The Broads

The Broads are a network of mostly navigable rivers and lakes in the English counties of Norfolk and Suffolk. The lakes, known locally as broads, were formed by the flooding of peat workings. It is Britain's largest nationally protected wetland and a member of the international family of national parks. Pretty towns and villages are surrounded by rolling farmland, woods and marshes - and the nearby coastline is spectacular.

Whether you want to hire a boat for a day on the Broads, visit a nature reserve or historic building or just spend a day shopping, there’s something for everyone. Walking, cycling, angling and birdwatching are all popular reasons for a visit.
