Carr Edge Accommodation. Attached to the main farm house the annex now provides to newly refurbished self catering units, situated in a beautiful rural farm location.

We have now turned our annex into 2 self catering apartments. Our aim is to provide you with a comfortable and friendly stay, and we hope that if you have forgotten anything in your rush to pack, you will ask, and wherever possible we will accommodate your requests.
The ground floor Stable apartment has south facing views and a patio door onto the garden area. There is an open plan kitchen/dining/living space, along with a bedroom with King size bed and en-suite wet room.
The upstairs Granary comprises of a family room and twin room, both with en-suite facilities. There is an open plan kitchen/dining/ living area with wood burning stove, and storage area for drying boots and coats. Please note access for the Granary is up the old traditional stone steps and may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.

The Stable.  Situated on the ground floor, with oil central heating, the unit has a compact kitchen/dining/sitting area, with traditional stone flagged floor. The newly installed kitchen comprises of cooker/induction hob, microwave, fridge (with small freezer section), dishwasher and washing machine. There is a TV and DVD player in the seating area, with an electric woodburner. The bedroom has a king size bed and walk in en-suite wet room facility has all the necessary hand rails to help those with mobility issues. The ground floor is south facing and the external door opens up from the bedroom onto the patio garden area, looking over stunning views over the Tyne Valley and beyond.   

Booking costs includes electric, bed linen & towels.

The Granary.  The Granary is accessed by the original stone steps and we ask guests to take care when entering the property. Situated on the first floor, with oil central heating, and a log wood burning stove and windows facing south overlooking the Tyne Valley. The newly installed kitchen comprises of cooker/induction Hob, microwave, standalone fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. In the seating area there is a TV, & DVD player as well as comfy seats. The family bedroom has a king size bed and a single bed (with an additional single bed added on request) and an en-suite bathroom with overbath shower. The second room is a twin bedroom with en-suite facilities of bath and overbath shower. Both rooms have central heating and a south facing outlook.

There is a walk in storage cupboard with boot rack, log storeage and the facility to hang wet coats. It is essential that only dry logs are used on the wood burning stove. (First basket of logs provided.)

Carr Edge is a working Beef & Sheep farm nestling in 700 acres of pastures and woodlands in Hexham, Northumberland. Situated in the historic area of the Hadrian s Wall corridor and 5 minutes out of the village of Newbrough, Carr Edge is set in a peaceful and idyllic location.

This traditional farmhouse is overlooking the South Tyne Valley, commanding spectacular views of the North Pennines and surrounding National Park areas. The Farm House is situated on a public footpath which leads to Hadrian s Wall Trail approx 1 1/2 miles and the Baden Powell Scout Cairn.

Carr Edge provides an ideal base for walkers and cyclists to explore Northumberland and is centrally located to enjoy trips to many places of instrest such as Kielder Water, National Trust attractions such as Wallington, Gibside and Cragside, or the coastal attractions of Bamburgh and Lindisfarne or even into the Scottish Borders.

The Stable  is ground floor accommodation and is suitble for guests with mobility issues. Featuring  a king size bed and a Walk in Wet room facilities and grab rails. The new open plan kitchen/ living area  comprises of Cooker/Induction Hob, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher and Washing machine. TV, & DVD player and sofa area, with central heating and an electric woodburning effect stove for your comfort. The room has direct access onto Patio area through south facing door, with stunning views of the Tyne Valley.  There is direct access from the car parking area to both the front and rear entrance to the Stable.

The garden area in front of the property is shared with the Granary and there are patio tables and chairs situated for you to enjoy and relax  in the tranquil countryside.

Arrival by car: Leaving the A69 2 miles West of Hexham, take the right hand B6319 to Fourstones Newbrough. Stay on the main road as you cross the River Tyne and follow it in a westerly direction through Fourstones to Newbrough. When you reach the Red Lion Pub, turn right, up the side of the pub. Proceed up this road (signposted No through road) for 1 mile, passing through the farm steading you follow the road up on to the hill top. When the road forks, take the right hand road over the cattle grid sign posted to Carr Edge. Enter the yard by bearing right where you will see a dedicated Car Park for guests.
