Read more about Pilmuir

Pilmuir, a former coach inn, is a self catering cottage set in 3 acres of land in the Cairngorm National Park near Boat of Garten, Aviemore, which is within easy reach of the Snow Roads Scenic Route, North Coast 500 and the North East 250. The cottage brings character and history to your stay along with spectacular panoramic views over the Cairngorm mountains and is a great location from which to explore the area. This unique holiday cottage welcomes you from the time you arrive to when you depart as the views dominate the rooms whilst the wildlife is plentiful with the resident red squirrels, wood pecker and deer all to be seen. The owners and their special team will make sure your stay is as comfortable and as personalised as possible, including providing an app specially designed for your stay. To that end, the cottage has all the facilities you’d expect of your own home, from washing machine to wifi to the slow cooker and extensive kitchen equipment. Many guests comment that it is ‘home from home before even unpacking’ and thus it is the experience offered by the Milne family and Pilmuir that makes your holiday unique. This is the main reason that guests come back time and time again. Pilmuir has a modern traditional kitchen with range cooker, living / dining area with wood burner stove, 2 bathrooms, utility and drying room and four bedrooms (king, double, single, family bedroom) accommodating up to nine people, plus a Mamas & Papas cot bed. The owners have family themselves so at no extra cost you are able to use sterilisers, playpen, toys, high chair etc. The garden is set in about an acre of ground where there is a ‘thatched hut’ aka 'Sitooterie' which is heated and offers a splendid outside ‘eatery’ , or indeed there is a BBQ area for those warmer days. To the rear of the garden is a secure area for kicking a ball, a play area for children, rhubarb patch and then there is a further two acres of land with grass, trees and a stream, making a great adventure area. Should you wish a hot tub this can be delivered, at an additional cost, from local providers. Finally, there is a large parking area with access to an electric vehicle charging point and for those with bikes/skis a separate storage shed.
