For: Working Farm

Farm Stay UK was founded in 1983 to promote agritourism, holiday cottages, bed and breakfast, glamping and other types of staycation accommodation situated on working farms. And we still do to this day.

Our agricultural heritage

With the UK having an affinity with our agricultural heritage, a holiday on a working farm is a fantastic way to go off-grid and reconnect with nature.

Stunning and idyllic rural landscapes are guaranteed with these quality holiday venues.

Having a holiday on a working farm includes staying in rustic converted byres, barns or granaries or a luxurious historic cottage. Other working farms include spectacular glamping cabins, lodges or shepherd’s huts set away from each other and offering an opportunity to really switch off.

Working farm holidays

Yet as well as having fabulous holiday accommodation, couples and families see the sunrise and sunset across panoramic views, experience fantastic night skies and, above all, be part of everyday working life on a farm.

Spot tractors and combine harvesters working the land, help to count the animals, learn about farming practices and even collect your own eggs for breakfast.

There is always something going on – 365 days a year.

Lambing time in the spring; shearing in high summer; harvest time in late summer; ploughing in the autumn; and calving and early lambing in the winter.

There might also be happy hens, some quacking ducks and there’s always a farm dog or cat to meet!

Find time to unwind

The bustle of the farmyard holds great appeal for many and it is fantastic to discover the hard work our farmers do to provide food for our nation.

Life takes on a new pace … it is a little slower so you can relax.

Staying on a farm offers the peace and quiet of staying in a tranquil location with walks and footpaths on the doorstep so you can switch off and step away at any time.

Farm to fork

Farmers are the custodians of our rich and fertile countryside and staying on a working farm is a fun, relaxing way to show the family where our food comes from and how the great outdoors is ‘the office’ for our agricultural workers!

From Yorkshire to Cumbria, from Cornwall to Wales, from the Highlands to the lush landscapes of Northern Ireland, there is a Farm Stay for you!
