Cornwall Scoops several South West Tourism Awards02/02/2018
Visitor attractions in Cornwall scooped several awards at the annual South West Tourism awards held recently. Accolades went to a variety of attractions scattered throughout the County proving that Cornwall is a great visitor destination for all ages, abilities and nationalities.
One of the iconic attractions of cornwall is the vast stretch of the South West coastal Footpath with over 300 miles to walk in Cornwall. The complete path that streches from Minehead in Somerset around to Poole in Dorset was named the International Visitor of the Year Experience. The Cornsih section enjoys fantastic countryside and sea views as you walk terrain that in places, even stretches across fantastic beaches!
Food lovers will not be disappointed either as a silver award was presented to the Bosacastle Farm Shop and Cafe based in North Cornwall. Rick Stein's Cookery School achieved a silver award in the artistic, cultural and learning experience of the year category endorsing Cornwall as a great County to visit food lovers!
In the same category, the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth was awarded the Bronze award. Close to Falmouth and boosting facilities for the less able, Mylor Sailing School was awarded a silver in the access and inclusivity category.
The Monkey Sanctury, near Looe in South East Cornwall was awarded a Gold Award for sustainable tourism and The Screech Owl Sanctury also came away with a gold award for the Best Small Attraction.
Based at the stunning Mount Edgcumbe country Park in South East Cornwall, Adventure Segway Cornwall was awarded the top Guided Tour of the Year. A bronze award was also presented to Lanhydrock National Trust - outdoor offer in recognition of the devlopment of some superb outdoor cycling and walking routes that have been developed close to this wonderful National Trust properties.
