Lakeside Cottages @ Polhilsa Farm

Located close to the Devon/Cornwall border and centrally between North and South coast, our lakeside cottage at Polhilsa Farm is an ideal base for touring both counties. The areas of outstanding natural beauty of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, offering some of the most breathtaking views are both only a short drive from our cottages.  Cornwall offers some of the most dramatic coastline with many walks to choose from on the South West Coastal Footpath - enjoy the rugged wind beaten North coast or the more gentle panoramic views of the the South coast with both being easily accessible from Polhilsa. Sheltered coves, fishing villages and sandy beaches are all only a short drive away as are several National Trust properties and of course, the world famous Eden project and Lost Gardens of Heligan. Within half an hour guests can be in Devon where a visit to the market town of Tavistock will not disappoint. Explore the natural beauty of Dartmoor or take a trip to the ocean city of Plymouth and enjoy a leisurely tour of the Hoe and Barbican with its small restaurants and Bars.

Completed in May 2017, the conversion of Lakeview cottage was carried out to a high specification.  On the edge of the main farm, Lakeview is suitably nestled in a corner where peace and relaxation are guaranteed.  On the ground floor is a large dining/lounge area with TV/DVD and open plan kitchen.  In the kitchen area, guests will find all the usual self catering requirements including fridge/ freezer; dishwasher; microwave; hob and oven and washing machine.  To the rear of the kitchen is a spacious bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom with walk in shower.  Stairs lead from the ground floor into a very large lounge area where guests can watch the TV while relaxing on comfortable sofas.  At the same time, enjoy extended views across the fishing lakes and beyond through the glass frontage to the cottage.  A large wood beamed bedroom is located to the rear of the first floor lounge.  Here, guests will find a king and single bed allowing the room to be used as a double or twin.  A quirky en suite shower room is accessed from the bedroom.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the large shared gardens that surrond the cottage.

Outside seating is provided and a BBQ is available if required.

Fishing is available on request although there are conditions on our syndicate lake.  A dog is also welcome by prior arrangement and conditions apply.  Wi Fi is available in the cottage.

Plenty of pubs can be found within a short drive from Polhilsa or various takeaway food can be sourced in the local town of Callington.

Parking is available immediately outside the cottage.
