Lakeside accommodation in converted barns that enjoy panoramic views of the Cornish countryside extending to Bodmin Moor. Sleeping up to 2 and 4, both barns are spacious, furbished to a high standard and secluded.

Lakeview cottage is a detached 2 bedroom barn conversion sleeping up to 4 that enjoys panoramic views over 2 fishing lakes and through a patchwork of rolling green countryside to the moors of Cornwall.
The boathouse is open plan and extremely spacious for 2 people. The large en suite bedroom has french windows opening onto a balcony where guests can sit and unwind while watching the abundance of wildlife around the lakes as well as enjoying great views to Bodmin Moor.
Polhilsa is close to the Cornwall/ Devon border therefore providing an ideal base for touring both counties. We are also situated midway between North and South coast making visits to both easy during your stay.
A dog is welcome in each cottage although conditions apply. Fishing is also available free to guests but again, conditions apply.

Located close to the Devon/Cornwall border and centrally between North and South coast, our lakeside cottages at Polhilsa Farm are an ideal base for touring both counties. The areas of outstanding natural beauty of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, offering some of the most breathtaking views are both only a short drive from our cottages.  Cornwall offers some of the most dramatic coastline with many walks to choose from on the South West Coastal Footpath - enjoy the rugged wind beaten North coast or the more gentle panoramic views of the the South coast with both being easily accessible from Polhilsa. Sheltered coves, fishing villages and sandy beaches are all only a short drive away as are several National Trust properties and of course, the world famous Eden project and Lost Gardens of Heligan. Within half an hour guests can be in Devon where a visit to the market town of Tavistock will not disappoint. Explore the natural beauty of Dartmoor or take a trip to the ocean city of Plymouth and enjoy a leisurely tour of the Hoe and Barbican with its small restaurants and Bars.

Completed in May 2017, the conversion of Lakeview cottage was carried out to a high specification.  On the edge of the main farm, Lakeview is suitably nestled in a corner where peace and relaxation are guaranteed.  On the ground floor is a large dining/lounge area with TV/DVD and open plan kitchen.  In the kitchen area, guests will find all the usual self catering requirements including fridge/ freezer; dishwasher; microwave; hob and oven and washing machine.  To the rear of the kitchen is a spacious bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom with walk in shower.  Stairs lead from the ground floor into a very large lounge area where guests can watch the TV while relaxing on comfortable sofas.  At the same time, enjoy extended views across the fishing lakes and beyond through the glass frontage to the cottage.  A large wood beamed bedroom is located to the rear of the first floor lounge.  Here, guests will find a king and single bed allowing the room to be used as a double or twin.  A quirky en suite shower room is accessed from the bedroom.
Situated on the waters edge, The Boathouse is a perfect rural hideaway for two.  Breathtaking views across rolling countryside to Bodmin Moor can be enjoyed from the tranquil setting of this well equipped cottage. The accommodation is spacious and open plan.  Entering the property you walk into the contempary kitchen with its high vaulted ceiling.  Here you will find an integrated hob and oven; microwave; fridge/freezer; dishwasher and washing machine.  Leading of the kitchen is the lounge diner.  Featuring wood floors and brick lined arch windows and patio doors leading onto the shared main garden.  Relax watching the TV/DVD with Freeview at the same time as watching the birds and other wildlife and enjoy the extended views to Bodmin Moor.  The large bedroom is hosted on a galleried level above and hosts a king size bed and french doors opening out onto a glass balcony.  There is a wall mounted TV in the bedroom and an en suite shower over bath and WC.  Guests are welcome to enjoy the large shared garden that can be accessed through the French doors. 

For both cottages:

Seating is provided and a BBQ is available if required.

Fishing is available on request although there are conditions on our syndicate lake.  A dog is also welcome by prior arrangement and conditions apply.  Wi Fi is available on site.

Plenty of pubs can be found within a short drive from Polhilsa or various takeaway food can be sourced in the local town of Callington.

Parking is available immediately outside each cottage.

Breathtaking views across rolling countryside to Bodmin Moor can be enjoyed from the tranquil setting of this well equipped cottage. Located on our small family run complex, Polhilsa Farm is situated close to the Cornwall/ Devon border providing our guests with the ideal location for exploring both counties. Located centrally between North and South coasts, visitors can easily visit both - from the rugged wind beaten north to the more gentle panoramic views of the Soulh, there will always be somewhere to visit. A number of coastal or moorland walks are within a short drive as is the city of Plymouth; several National Trust properties; gardens including Heligan and the Eden project and quaint towns and villages steeped in history. From Launceston

After leaving the A30 at Launceston, take the A388 to Callington. Continue on this road for approximately 8 miles until reaching Camelot Kennels which is situated on a crossroads. Turn right towards Golberdon. Take the first right and continue to the end where you will find Polhilsa Farm.

From Plymouth

After crossing the Tamar Bridge and passing through the tunnel at Saltash, take the A388 to Callington. Continue through Callington and Kelly Bray. Approximately half a mile from Kelly Bray at the crossroads and Camelot Kennels, turn left to Golberdon. Take the first right and continue to the end where you will find Polhilsa Farm.

Both routes are approximately one hours drive from Exeter.
