Degembris is a family run, Grade II listed collection of three beautifully furnished self catering cottages, set in the heart of the tranquil Cornish countryside. Each cottage is thoughtfully equipped to give you a true home from home experience, perfect for unwinding and enjoying a peaceful break.
Wander through our wildflower meadow, stroll around the beautiful lake, or explore the small orchard and bluebell filled woodland — all part of our grounds waiting for you to enjoy. With our central location, Degembris is an ideal base for discovering every corner of Cornwall, and as we live on site, we’re always here if you need anything during your stay. 😊

Here at Degembris, life moves at a gentler pace. Tucked away in a peaceful rural setting near Newquay, our cottages offer the perfect balance of comfort, character and countryside calm. Whether you are planning a romantic escape, a family holiday, a break with friends or a few quiet days to recharge, Degembris gives you the space to slow down, breathe deeply and enjoy the simple pleasures of being surrounded by nature.

Our three cottages each have their own individual charm while sharing the same welcoming feel.
The Lodge is a cosy and romantic retreat for one or two guests, with a flexible super king or twin bedroom, open plan living space and a private enclosed patio for morning coffee, relaxed evenings or simply listening to the birdsong.
The Stiddle is a generous cottage ideal for families or two couples, offering two en-suite bedrooms, a spacious open plan living area and an outdoor patio space for al fresco meals.
Chy-an-Oula, meaning The Owl’s House, is a characterful cottage with reverse level living designed to make the most of the countryside views, creating a lovely place to gather after a day exploring Cornwall.

Inside, the cottages are warm, comfortable and well equipped, with everything you need for an easy self catering stay. Expect inviting living spaces, practical kitchens, comfortable bedrooms and thoughtful touches that help you settle in from the moment you arrive. We want every guest to feel relaxed and at home, whether you are cooking a quiet supper, curling up after a coastal walk or planning the next day’s adventure over breakfast.

Car arrival:

From Bodmin (bypass) take the A30 heading west (approximately fifteen miles). Take left off dual carriageway signposted Summercourt - Newquay A3058. This brings you into Summercourt village. At the traffic lights, turn right (sign posted Newquay A3058) take the third turning left signposted St Newlyn East approximately two miles from Summercourt. Then second lane on the left signposted Degembris Farmhouse & Cottages.
