Located in Wellow, close to the A616 & A1 with easy access to Newark, Retford, Worksop & Mansfield — perfect for multigenerational families, friends' getaways or contractor/work teams.

With views across our patchwork fields, these cottages jointly can accommodate up to 12 people. They are perfect for family gatherings or joint accommodation for contractors needing flexible accommodation.

Each cottage features 3 bedrooms, comfortable living spaces & equipped kitchens with thoughtful touches to ensure a comfortable stay for both adults & children.

Tucked away on our family farm, Foliat Cottages have a charming history — originally built in 1901 for the Head Groom and Whipper-In of the historic Rufford Hunt. Today they offer a wonderful base whether you're gathering the whole family, reconnecting with friends, or settling in with your work team.

Each cottage has its own welcoming living space, fully equipped kitchen, dining room and three comfortable bedrooms — giving everyone room to breathe while staying close together. Work groups and contractors will particularly appreciate having up to 6 guests each with their own room and homely shared facilities.

Kitchens
Both cottages are fully kitted out with hob, oven, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer — everything you need to cook proper meals together. 

Dining Rooms
Both cottages seat 6 comfortably. 2 Foliat Cottage has the added bonus of an extendable table stretching to seat all 12 guests — perfect for those big family dinners or team meals.

Living Rooms
🔥 2 Foliat Cottage: Sink into the sofa by the log burner set within a gorgeous exposed brick fireplace, or settle in for a film on the smart TV.
🏡 1 Foliat Cottage: Cosy up around the electric log burner, with a digital TV, DVD player and Amazon Firestick to keep everyone entertained.

All bedrooms are comfortable and well-presented — perfect for families, friends or colleagues who deserve a proper night's sleep!

1 Foliat Cottage:

Bathrooms
Each cottage has an upstairs family bathroom with bath, WC and sink, plus a separate walk-in shower room — no queuing for busy families or work groups! Both also have a handy downstairs WC and combined washing machine/dryer.

🌿 Outdoor Space
Step outside to your own enclosed garden and patio with outdoor dining and seating for up to 12. Whether it's a quiet morning coffee, an evening under the stars or a proper summer barbecue — it's all yours! Please note that each cottage currently has its own separate garden and patio area. No. 2 Foliat Cottage has a gas barbecue available to use, with gas provided. 🍖🔥
From Summer 2027, we're hoping to open up the full patio space across the back of the cottages, giving guests even more room to relax and dine outdoors — watch this space!

Great to Know
👶 2 Foliat Cottage is fully set up for little ones — stairgates, magnetic cupboard locks, fireguard, bed guards on request, non-slip bath mat, baby bath support, changing mat, toilet seat reducer and toys & books are all in place. Two highchairs and a travel cot are available, complete with an extra mattress and bedding provided. ✅
1 Foliat Cottage also welcomes young families with highchair and travel cot available (extra mattress and cot bedding not provided) plus toys and books for your little ones.

🚗 Parking: Spaces for 4–5 cars with additional parking available on request. Bicycle storage also available.

💻 Superfast Broadband: ~150mb fibre broadband — smooth streaming and reliable remote working, no excuses for missed deadlines! 😄

🌱 Eco Heating: Ground source renewable central heating keeps both cottages warm and cosy year-round.

2 Foliat Cottage has a wonderful history — originally built for the Whipper-in of the Rufford Hunt, it's been lovingly updated into a warm, welcoming family haven with everything you need to truly relax on our farm. 

We've thought especially carefully about families with babies, toddlers and small children — so you can leave the boot-load of baby kit at home! 👶🌿

Fully equipped kitchen with cooker, hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and a Dolce Gusto pod coffee machine — because great coffee is non-negotiable! A separate dining room comfortably seats 6 around a large table, with Amazon Alexa to set the mood.

Cosy up beside a real log burner fire — complete with safety surround and guard — or settle in for a family film night on the smart TV.

Foliat Cottages are tucked away on our family farm, 3/4 of a mile along our farm drive and through our farm yard and sheltered by Wellow Wood. The farm drive is directly accessed off the main A616 in the village of Wellow. We are within easy reach of Newark, Mansfield, Retford and Worksop. A little further afield but within an hour's drive are Nottingham, Lincoln and Sheffield. The East Coast Mainline with links directly to London Kings Cross is accessible at both Newark and Lincoln. The A1 is just 20 minutes away and the M1 just half an hour.
