Gardens in North Devon

If you come to North Devon for a short break or a weeks holiday you will be able to visit a different garden every day. Winter, Summer, Autumn, or Winter some different and wonderful colours can by seen.

We can start with the gardens of Hartland Abbey with beautiful gardens and a walk to the beach. It also has a Gertude Jekyll designed Fernery and Bog Garden

Docton Mill Gardens are not far along the road set in an unique valley 1500 meters from a dramatic coastal waterfall with its spectacular display of Narcissi in the spring

Moving on to Clovelly court gardens which houses a lovely restored Victorian walled kitchen garden , magnificent lean-to glasshouses with an aray of Peaches,Nectarines, Apricots, Vines and citrus fruit.

On to RHS Rosemoor set in 65 acres which is open all year round and changes with the seasons. Award winning gardens and wood that will take you more than a day to wonder round. In summer a collection of over 200 Roses one of the best in the South West.

Tapeley Park just outside Instow The Gardens are a magical balance of nature and nurture. From the formal terraces to the natural grace of the Lake, it feeds the spirit and cleanses the heart of all who see it and experience its beauty. With thoughtful woodland walks, abundant organic vegetable gardens and surprising animal encounters, a day at Tapeley Park is truly a day to remember.

Castle Hill Gardens are a stunning 50 acre family friendly 18th century garden with it Vistas, Follies and temples a river walk and panoramic views from the sham castle. The home of the Fortescue family for over 660 years. Camellias, Magnolias, Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Hydrangeas and Eucryphias and grown in profusion.
Broomhill Gardens and Sculptures set in one of the most glorious valleys of North Devon surrounded by hundreds of acres of woodlands which is bound by its own stream. The sculpture park displays one of the largest collections of contemporary art in the South West.

Marwood Hill Gardens this is a magical and very special 20 acre private garden and lakes created by Dr Jimmy Smart in the 1950's which houses the national collections of plants, Astilbes, Iris Ensata and Tubaghia shrubs and trees.
