Welcome to Shropshire

Tucked away on the English and Welsh Border

Tucked away on the English and Welsh border, Shropshire is easy to reach from almost anywhere but, like all the best places, far enough away that it has stayed comparatively unchanged.

The Shropshire countryside is a recommended location for a bed and breakfast or self-catering cottage break with Farm Stay.  Home to musician Edward German and Charles Darwin; Shropshire is located in the West Midlands.

Dinham Bridge, Ludlow
Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Ludlow and Whitchurch are some of the towns and villages in the county that deserve a visit during your B&B or self-catering break.
Cattle at Morrells Wood Farm, Shropshire
The most popular tourist attractions include Ironbridge Gorge Museum, RAF Cosford and the Blue Planet Aquarium. Chester and Chester Zoo are also within commutable distance, as is Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire.  Staying in Shropshire on a holiday suits those of you who prefer to get away from it all and really relax.

The county has excellent walking, from the Shropshire Hills in the south of the county to the meres and mosses in the north.

Cheshire cheese is a popular delicacy that must be tried while visiting the area. The cheese is produced in two counties of England, which includes Shropshire, and two counties in Wales, so it would be worth trying the English and Welsh crumbly cheese.
