Local Food and Drink in Shropshire

Kerryvale VIneyardShropshire is a rural county and is lucky enough to have many artisan food producers based in the idyllic county. Ludlow hosted the first Food Festival in the Country, held in September with a smaller event in May. It is also a pioneer of the Slow Food movement, celebrating local produce and minimising food miles.

Wherever you are staying, try and explore one of the regular Farmers Markets. Filled with a wide range of fresh produce grown throughout the county.

Come to find the perfect preserve to have on your morning toast, or enjoy a freshly laid egg to be paired perfectly with your local bacon! The markets have everything including a variety of organic fruit and veg.

Almost every small town still has a butcher and baker so delicious produce for breakfast whilst in your self catering country cottage.
Or why not stock up on beer or wine from one of the many micro breweries or Kerryvale, Ludlow and Wroxeter Vineyards. Looking for something a little stronger? There are a number of producers of fruit gins and spirits and our very own Shropshire Gin - Tiger! Perfect to bring home to friends and family or indulge in after a day walking through the countryside.
