Great Yorkshire Show

The 160th Great Yorkshire Show takes place this year at The Great Yorkshire Showground on the outskirts of Harrogate,HG2 8NZ, North Yorkshire. With 130 000 visitors expected to attend this event,it is one of the largest agricultural shows in the UK.
Organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, the event takes place from Tuesday 10th July  to Thursday, 12th July and is rated as one of the best countryside shows in the country. 
Whatever your tastes, the show caters for everyone.  See some of the best livestock the country has to offer, with 8000 animals being on show including cattle, sheep, pigs and pigeons.  The National Charolais society will be holding its National show with around 75 head of cattle expected. The cattle parade in the main ring is a  spectacular to watch,watch out for the naughty ones that don't want to be behave! The show ring will host some significant competition between some of the countries leading show jumpers competing in the Cock of the North show jumping competition  View some of the newest most hightec agricultural machinery on offer.
Lorenzo  will be back in the main ring with his daredevil bare-back riding display on his beautiful grey horses from the Camargue. nicked named the "Flying Frenchman" this is one main ring attraction not to miss!

Look out for a new street food court selling both local and international cuisine including from the shows own food hall and cafe Fodder, the only one of its kind in  the country where 100% of the profits go back into a rural charity (The Yorkshire Agricultural Society).  Food is always a popular aspect of the show and visitors can enjoy the many cookery demonstrations that take place over the duration of the show including TV chefs such as Rosemary Shrager.

Visit the forestry area or meander around the many stands, craft stalls or other stands that will be marketing their wares at the show.  If gardens are your thing, a time spent in the floral section or show gardens will be time well spent for sure.
