Here you can discover more about our farmhouse rooms where we welcome guests for restful short breaks or more energetic exploration of the treasures of Cornwall's far west peninsula.

We welcome you to our delightful home where you can relax and feel free to come and go in lovely, peaceful, coastal countryside between Lamorna Cove and the quaint fishing village of Mousehole on the south coast of the Lands End peninsula.
Our two ensuite, pet friendly rooms are on the ground floor overlooking the lovely courtyard where breakfast or alfresco picnics may be enjoyed.
Our accessible location allows all the beaches, amenities, attractions and hidden treasures of West Cornwall to be within easy reach but with peace and seclusion as your base.

Read more about Castallack Farm

Down a winding country lane just 4 miles west of the busy market town of Penzance you'll find the tiny hamlet of Castallack. This peaceful location lies slightly inland between Mousehole (1.5 miles) with its small, safe & sandy harbour beaches and the iconic Lamorna Cove (1mile) famed for it's artistic heritage and much painted by artists past and present. Here at Castallack Farm our 35 acres are home to two ponies, sheep, Chico the llama, pet Kune Kune pigs, geese, chickens & our beloved 'welcoming party' of Tammy, Margot and Dory our dogs & cat. You are welcome to explore via the bridleway that runs through the land and provides a lovely walk for your canine companion.

Penzance has all the amenities of civilization that you may need, shops, pubs, restaurants, galleries galore and a working harbour from which you can take marine wildlife watching and fishing trips. If sea bathing is not for you then a visit to the famous Art Deco open air seawater lido 'Jubilee Pool' is a must,  brought into the 21st century by huge efforts on behalf of the community it has recently opened the first 'geo thermally' heated pool in Britain.

Just 3 miles to the east before reaching Penzance is Newlyn, the thriving fishing port where you can explore the ancient alleyways of it's seafaring heritage, This small, unspoilt harbour town offers individual shops, galleries, excellent cafes and even a luxury cinema & cafe in an old converted granite fish warehouse.

To the west of Castallack towards Lands End the world of fabulous beaches, hidden coves and ancient sites is your oyster.  The land is within Cornwalls 'Area of Outstanding Beauty' with much of the wild and rugged north coast being a World Heritage Site based on it's tin and copper mining history. The iconic South West Coast Path - the longest walking trail in England surrounds the peninsula and can be accessed almost wherever the land meets the sea, Lamorna, Mousehole, the glorious tiny unspoilt coves of Penberth and Porthgwarra to name just a few. Whether your choice is to swim, surf, snorkel or soak up the sun there's a suitable beach within easy reach & a place here back at Castallack to dry your wetsuits & store your gear.

A little further afield but not much ( 6 miles) is the jewel in the crown of Mounts Bay 'St Michaels Mount', a National Trust property which should not be missed, accessible by foot across the causeway at low tide or by ferry from the granite jettys on Marazion beach. St Ives, across on the north coast but still only 10 miles away is a busy, bustling place full of restaurants, cafes, galleries and with the most beautiful beaches, best reached by train on the 'St Ives branch Line'.

The maritime climate of this area allows beautiful tropical gardens to flourish, very locally are Trewidden and Trengwainton amongst others & further afield the wonderful Trebah Gardens, Trelissick and Glendurgan not to mention the famous Eden Project which is probably best visited on your journey to or from West Cornwall.

Additional Directions Information

Car arrival: Take the A30 to Penzance, keep the sea on your left until you reach Newlyn. Take the B3315 signposted Lamorna, Porthcurno and Paul. Continue until you have gone through a very small village called Sheffield. Take the left fork after Sheffield, signposted Castallack, ignoring turn offs, continue for one mile. Enter Castallack (no signs) we are the only property on the right. hand side of the road. There is a hanging sign with a sheep on it outside the main gate.

If you have Sat Nav then input TR19 6NL. It may tell you we are on the left as you approach from Sheffield. It is wrong we are on the right.

Walking from the coast path: There is only one exit from Lamorna Cove so take that road and just after 'The Wink' pub there is a small lane on the right heading downhill, no name or sign. Continue on this single track lane for approximately three quarters of a mile and Castallack Farm is the only property on the left hand side of the road. Enter through a gateway that has a bed and breakfast sign hanging outside the gate and turn left to enter the courtyard. The B&B door is ahead on the right and ring the brass ships bell at the doorway.
