Apartments are both ground floor and adjacent to our farmhouse each having their own enclosed courtyard or patio It is situated on a smallholding surrounded by 16 acres of pasture land. Animals we keep include sheep, cattle, pigs and poultry.

Only two apartments onsite ensuring a quiet relaxed escape to the countryside.

The village of Rackenford is within a five-minute level walk. The village has a shop and a thatched pub , The Stag Inn, rumoured to be the oldest in Devon. The Stag Inn is open most weekends and serves delicious home cooked food using local produce. Booking in advance is recimmended.

An idyllic location in the Devon countryside allowing easy access to both the North and South Devon Coast and their award winning beaches. Fantastic area for walking with the Two Moors Way close by and a large selection of circular walks. Exmoor National Park is a 20 minute drive away and Dartmoor can be reached with a 45 minute drive.

Away from the crowds but with everything within easy reach. The cities of Exeter (24 miles), Barnstaple (24 miles) and Taunton (28 miles) are all close by with leisure facilities, high street shops, restaurants, cinema, theatre and much more. The nearest town is Tiverton (8 miles) with its castle, canal, Grand Western Horseboat and National Trust property Knightshayes Court. A great location for exploring Devon and only 20 minutes from the M5, Junction 27.

Apartments are both Non-Smoking. Bed linen and towels are provided. A maximum of two well-behaved dogs are permitted in Oaksberry, and one in Hornbeam, at an additional charge of £25 per dog per week. 

We are not currently offering Short Stays, minimum stay is one week. Please check our website for up to date availibilty.

Bird feeder, outside dining table window, is frequently visited by blue tits, great tits, goldfinches, siskins, red poll, house sparrows, nuthatch and woodpeckers.

Has a dishwasher and washing machine.

Bedlinen and towels are provided. 

Dogs welcome, maximum of two.

Coming from M5
Turn off M5 at junction 27. At roundabout take the A361 west towards Tiverton/Barnstaple (first exit coming from Exeter, third exit from Bristol).
After approx 6 miles reach roundabout. Take 2nd exit to stay on A361, signed Barnstaple/Rackenford.
After approx 5 miles take Left exit off A361, signed Rackenford. To T-junction and turn right, signed Rackenford./Stag Inn.
Drive along Bendy country road. Go down steep hill, long white house (Old Bell) at bottom of hill then up a steep hill. Road corners left at top of hill.
Turn left off this road at war memorial.

Keep driving straight on towards Witheridge, do not turn left into Rackenford village.Approx 500 yards along this road, go past left hand road which leads back to village, and take the first farm lane on the right, opposite driveway to The Old Rectory and Stables on the left.
There is a metal wagon wheel, with slate name plate at the end of our lane.
If you see Lanelands sign on right you’ve gone 20 yards too far!!
If you reach the lanes of Higher Thorne or Lower Thorne you have gone quarter mile too far!!

Coming from South Molton
Take the A361 west towards Tiverton.
Approx 8 miles from South Molton Turn right off the A361 – signed Rackenford.
Immediately turn left – signed Rackenford. Country road over Rackenford Moor, hilly and bendy.
After about 2 miles at T Junction turn left – signed Rackenford.
Very soon after passing Rackenford Club on right, turn right at the War Memorial – signposted Witheridge (do not go into Rackenford Village).
Approx 500 yards go past left hand road which leads back to village, and take the first farm lane on the right, opposite driveway to The Old Rectory and Stables on the left.There is a metal wagon wheel, with slate name plate at the end of our lane.
