A very warm welcome awaits you at the Red Linhay, Hollacombe Farm near Blackmoor Gate on the western fringes of Exmoor! The original linhay has been beautifully restored and converted, using a combination of traditional and modern materials. The result is a spacious, well appointed, comfortable warm home, with double-glazing throughout and central heating in every room. And for those who really like the warmth we have a modern log-burning stove and a free supply of logs. Outside there is ample parking and a large, grassed garden front and back, a stream and waterfall to the front, a children’s play area and a barbecue and picnic table along with stabling or grazing for your horse.

We offer a delightful two-bedroom cottage (one double, one twin, both with ensuite shower rooms) sleeping up to 4 plus a cot for couples, families, or individuals. Downstairs through the front door is a porch and cloakroom with WC and washbasin, and a door into a large open-plan lounge and kitchen/dining area with access outside through 2 sets of attractive arched French doors. The kitchen is very well-equipped with eye level double electric oven with grill and a gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine and has ample work tops and cupboards. You can also enjoy our own spring water "on-tap". The lounge has a TV and DVD player, and free Wi-Fi.

Stabling and grazing for your horse is available year round. You can ride on the farm or access moorland rides a short distance away.

The Red Linhay has stunning views, seclusion, walks from the door, award winning beaches, dog friendly (up to 2 well behaved dogs are permitted), great pubs nearby – the perfect break!

This fabulous unique cottage is loved by everyone who stays here. It is so easily accessed yet is completely secluded. It is the perfect situation for a romantic break, a family holiday or to bring your horses and dogs for exploring Exmoor and the coast.

It has 2 bedrooms - one double and one twin both with ensuite shower rooms so technically sleeps 4 people. However there is also a baby's cot available, a large cot bed for a small child upstairs and a futon sofa bed downstairs in the large open plan living area. So additional guests could stay too.

Complimentary welcome basket on arrival with lots of yummy goodies and essentials for your stay! I use home made produce as much as possible (eggs, bread, cakes, scones, marmalade) and locally made fare when I can (butter, milk, clotted cream, jam, tea, coffee, beer, cider) so you can be sure to have tea on arrival and breakfast on your first morning.

There is also a waist high drawer freezer available - please ask when booking.
